As a current student of this school and PN-G band member I couldn't be happier with it. This school's staff goes to great lengths to ensure that each student is accomadated to the best of their abilities with their resources. The school focuses on a continuing "tradition of excellence" and maintains incredibly high standards for its students. Community support is unmatched by any other school anywhere. Although some believe that funding is unevenly distributed when compared with other districts PN-GISD actually funds its programs more evenly than other districts (one neighboring district Nederland actually spends twice as much on athletics as PN-G and actually sees less success in general). Academics is unmatched in the area and the PN-G academic team has taken the last eleven consecutive academic district championships. The current principal has taken great strides to promote discipline in the school and the school's TAKS ratings have shown an upward trend for the last five years. Extra-curricular participation is greatly encouraged and PN-G programs boast more participation and generally more success than most schools could hope for. PN-G also has an excellent faculty.

I am a former student of this school. Unfortunately this school does not deserve any of the higher rankings it receives. This school focuses on two or three main groups (football cheerleaders other athletes) and largely ignores everyone else. It funnels funding to these rather unimportant areas leaving other more critical ones(school upkeep textbooks actual academic things) to suffer. The teaching staff however is excellent. It has one of the best English departments in the state and it's computer systems are taken care of by student and teacher team that can't be beaten.
If you are not from the area it is very hard for your child to fit in even if they begin at Kindergarten. Very closed minded clickish community who are not very receptive to others who are originally not from the general area. My student is doing ok but my husband and I look forward to the day that he will be transfered somewhere else.
Wonderful school! Great neighborhood with excellent teachers that often came from attending this school. Very tradition oriented with values.
Port Neches-Groves High School has one of the best High School marching bands in the whole Southeast Texas. The honor pride and tradition involved in seeing the band exit the field while performing the 'Marching I' is something that cannot be explained You just have to experience it for yourself.
Great quality high school. Most parents are actively involved. Most graduates go to four year universities such as A&M and UT. The music program is very good. The football and volleyball programs are exceptional. The soccer and baseball programs are growing. There is an abundance of extracurricular activities although the art program is not very strong.
Very Political! If you want your kids to be recognized for their achievements you (the parent) must be very active in the PTA Drill team booster clubs etc. Your child will not be recognized for their own achievements!
PN-G is the best school in this area probably one of the best schools in Texas. They normally have an award winning extracurricular program. Including their band football team indianettes cheerleaders and so on. The teaching staff is excellent as well as the principals. I couldn't have graduated from a better school.
This is one of the best school districts ever! The teachers are great along with the schools students. I am currently a freshman there and I plan on graduating at PNG and plus PNG has the best English teachers that will teach you everything you will need to know about college! Ask any area college and they will tell you PNG.
This school is probably the best school in the Golden Triangle! High achieving! Extra-curricular activities are of the highest ranking.
