A lot of people were surprised when we chose to send our son to this public school across the street from a housing project. He attended 7 years at Barth starting in 4k through 5th grade. We could not have been more pleased with the entire staff at Barth and the quality education he received there. The teachers are amazing and the two principals he had while at Barth were both exceptional. We always felt our child was safe and well cared for at Barth in addition to receiving an excellent education. Don't let the school's location fool you. This is a quality school and your child will received an outstanding education in a very diverse environment.

/the educational system is poor. They teach students much less than the basics! My son is in fourth grade and hasn't been taught to correct his spelling mistakes punctuation capatilization nor does he know how to write in cursive. And he only knows up to his 5th multiplication table. Until now..and that'a because I'm teacing him!
