Pottstown it's better than you think ) My ninth grader is enjoying honors classes and has made many friends since transferring in from another local school. I'm pleased she earned "advanced" on her PSSAs. One improvement I'd suggest is -- I'd like to see more information on the school's website. This weekend is Homecoming but I don't know if there's a dance. It would be great to see the calendar include the school's social events.

Pottstown high school is a fantastic school. My children are getting an excellent education there taking honors and AP courses. Pottstown has a great music program as well. My kids can't wait to get to school they study hard every night that speaks volumes.

Pottstown Senior High School is a great neighborhood school with teachers that truly care about their students and their student's families.

After being in the Pottstown School District my entire life I am now a senior at Pottstown who takes Honors & AP Courses and will be attending La Salle U. I have realized over my years in the high school that my parents have made a poor decision in choosing these facilities for my education. The computer classes are a joke the lunches are horrible government controlled and sometimes made me sick. The nuggets have gray meat. It's public school with school uniforms which states it's suppose to stop violence but it has only stayed the same if not worsened. The school spirit is poor because of the lack of winning in literally ALL sports. Most students do not get along with each other and there are 2 major cliques in this school which consist of somewhat "ghetto" students & "emo" or "punk" students. I would never send my children here for the lack of great teaching and an incredibly ridiculous school board. I wouldn't doubt that sometime in the near future the Pottstown School District will be entirely almost a "prison feel" instead of a high school experience. If I had to say one good thing about this district it would be my free blocks where I could go home my senior year.

I worked as a teacher in this district and was often appalled at the lack of proper grammar usage among my fellow teachers as well as the lack of professionalism. This is a poor school district and it's up to the teachers to lead by example and to provide these underprivileged children with good role models. Unfortunately many of the teachers care as little for their own education as they do for their students' educations. What district hires teachers who don't even have a basic grasp of the English language? That said there are teachers there who do care are good role models and who do their jobs very well. Unfortunately they are in the minority.

I graduated from the Pottstown High School in June 2009 after being in the district since Second grade. Pottstown High School has a great diversity of students and personalities as well as a unique staff that each bring a new way of teaching the students. PHS has a wide variety of sports and clubs that way everyone can find something they're interested in. On a bad note however the administration board doesn't seem to know what they are doing. Last year the Drafting courses were cut due to 'lack of interest' and 'it isnt a valued job in PA' however the class always had 25+ students when there was only 14 computers and Drafting is one of the top ten jobs in PA. The food is overpriced and terrible at full price and reduced. However overall PHS is a great school with a wonderful staff and a great sense of spirit.

I am a single parent who has raised both a son and daughter who have attended/attending Pottstown High School. Prior to moving to the district out of Pottsgrove I was very hesitant. I later learned that it was what my children wanted because of the constant distractions among students at Pottsgrove. I couldn't be happier about the choice I made. I have watched my children excel in the Pottstown High School. I have one who is attending Penn State University while the other 11th grader is maintaining a 4.0 GPA enrolled in AP and or Honors courses and has plans of attending Penn State as well. I support Pottstown School District completely. The challenged my children in ways the other school did not.

I found the academics to be on par with state requirements. I am especially impressed with the high level of cooperation given to me as a parent wanting to be actively involved in educational decisions about my children. I was not made to feel like I was interfering. Quite the opposite--I was made to feel that my opinions were appreiated and valued. There are a wide variety of activities to suit every personality. I am very pleased with my experience thus far and best of all my children like going to school!

If you send your child here there's a chance they'll get a decent education. Terrible school board and administration but there are a few shining stars among the teachers.

I have a child in the Pottstown Senior High School and quite frankly I feel as though the education system has skipped my city. Thanks to George W. Bush's ridiculous law No Child Left Behind his school is plastered with labels that accuse the students of being underachievers merely because they cannot perform well on a given test. Well let me tell you sir my son is a genius but growing up in Pottstown as he is forced to do because I am on food stamps and cannot afford to send him to the Hill he will not have the education he needs and deserves. The cafeteria food is also very unfortunate. Oh and our administration building likes to employ people to do absolutely nothing. This is outrageous. I give my son's school a downgrade.
