Our daughter looks forward to going to school everyday. Mountain Oak School is a dream come true for her. Our daughter's writing skills really shine here as she is not set up to fail or be in competition with anyone like she was at our last public school. All the children are happy and get along with their peers. And we feel like we are all family to all the other parents the teachers and administrators. Mountain Oak School is a great school!

Mountain Oak is an excellent school. The grade that a school receives that is based on the standardized tests is not the ultimate measure of how great a school is. If students are happy are successful after they graduate and move on to high school and college and grow into well-rounded responsible citizens is be far the best indicator.

This is a wonderful school that's goal is producing a whole person. They do handwork with yarn (knitting) and bees wax. They teach Spanish lots of art music & instrument all part of their core curriculum. The school handles student issues with respect for the child and bring in resources where necessary. The children all use/play with natural toys objects and materials. They promote imagination with wonderful stories and lots of festivals throughout the year. Don't be discouraged by the building in which the school is located all the classrooms are large brightly colored and set up for amazing learning. The teachers are all Waldorf qualified and are very passionate about there students and their teaching. We couldn't be happier with our child's school!

This is my son's second year at Mountain Oak and I am very happy with the school. His 2 teachers have been excellent blending perfectly Waldorf concepts and traditional curriculum. I feel the teachers truly respect the whole child and let them be just that- their unique playful beautiful selves. When I observe the children at Mt. Oak they all seem comfortable happy and confident. I don't seem to see withdrawn or typically "shy" children because the kids see school as a safe place where they can be themselves and get the support and encouragement to grow learn and play. Learning is not stressful at Mt.Oak it is positive and natural. I would highly recommend Mt. Oak to any child and parent looking for a small school with top notch teachers and curriculum.

I have a daughter in kindergarten and preschool at Mountain Oak School (MOS). I find the curriculum to be outstanding and I love the fact that they are taught to deeply understand the subjects and not just stuffed with forgettable facts. They are nurtured as a whole person body mind and spirit and are taught subjects as appropriate to their age and development. At MOS the children are allowed to be children and they learn as all children should through play and experience and art music nature gardening woodworking and handwork are considered just as valuable a part of the curriculum as the three Rs. I highly recommend this school. The teachers are dedicated and and very knowledgable about the Waldorf philosophies and principles. We are one big family at MOS.

Beauty joy friendship family integrity wonder...These are all reasons why I chose Mountain Oak Charter School for my children. Starting with Kindergarten and continuing on to 6th and 4th grades where they are currently enrolled I cherish the educational experience my children have enjoyed at this incredible school. From learning to knit to seeing the harmony present in the different areas of arithmetic from field trips to the Grand Canyon to presenting a class play my children have been supported challenged and enriched in countless ways over the years. But more than all this what brings me the greatest joy is seeing them look forward to school each day. Thank you Mountain Oak for this sublime gift.

After moving from Eugene Oregon and being in the public school system there from Kindergarten to first grade we were used to a well-rounded curriculum that involved academics art and social interaction. We tried one of the local public schools for 2nd grade when we moved to Prescott but were not impressed with the overly heavy attention to academics. Though Abia Judd was good at excelling with academia the social interaction of the crowded classes was severely lacking. Mountain Oak has been a real blessing in treating the whole child and we have seen our son flourish with the strong Waldorf flavor of the school. The core academia is covered and he also gets to participate in festivals learn music handwork cultural history from many faiths and physical play in a social setting with his other classmates. He's much happier at Mountain Oak and his behavior at home is the proof in the pudding. We're also much happier with the involved parents who also like to do something better than the mainstream "pop" lifestyle. We're here to stay!

Mountain Oak Charter School has been the very best choice for my daughter now in 6th grade. She started attending MOS in the second grade and we have never second guessed the decision to make this our school home. The teachers administrators and parents work together to crate a beautiful and safe campus for our children. The Waldorf inspired education that my daughter receives is first rate! She is treated with dignity and respect as an important part of the school community and she reciprocates with a fierce loyalty to her teacher classmates fellow students and her education. Mountain Oak school is a gem.

This school is everything we ever hoped for our children. This school has the most dedicated passionate patient professional and hard working group of teachers. We are so impressed how they can combine Waldorf teaching methods with state standards and create the most enriching learning environment. The since of community within the school is very welcoming and reassuring. We have been at this school 5years and recommend it to any parent looking for a school that offers a well rounded education for their child. We are especially grateful for their math program through Singapore Math it is a strong math program that exceeds the standards. Spanish Handwork Movement Education Theatre Poetry The Arts Music Science Gardening everyday is filled with these amazing programs. We could never say enough good things about this school....really! If you like to be an involved parent in your child's education then this is the school for your family.

My daughter began attending Mountain Oak School 2 years ago and I am so happy we chose to attend! Other schools we have attended were not interesting enough to grab and hold my daughter's attention. It was all merely 'textbook' learning with repetitive exercises. In the years we have attended MOS we have been on numerous hikes camping trips museum trips annual school gatherings with other Waldorf schools and we hold festivals 2-3 times a year. My daughter is able to knit sew garden play the violin and flute recite poetry tell mythical stories speak Spanish and she scores high academically in every subject. She's truly 'well-rounded'. We are very blessed to have found Mountain Oak Charter School! The difference is that Mountain Oak offers a curriculum enriched with Waldorf-inspired learning. From Preschool to 8th grade each class is taught in a wonderful loving environment by teachers trained to build on a student's learning experience by making each class enjoyable as well as scholastically enriching. The product from this type of learning are happy fulfilled loving children who bring forth joy to the world around them. I'm happy because my child is happy.

This school ALLOWS AND ENCOURAGES BULLING. There are gangs of bullies. The teacher was aware and witnessed physical bulling and peer pressure bulling but refused to put a stop to it. My child told the teacher several times about how the kids would gang up on him refuse to play with him call him names and put him down. I spoke to the teacher and she said "That's what kids do. This is not the end of it." I told her that if there is no consequences for the bulling it sure won't stop. Since the teacher refused to do anything about the bulling I spoke to the director of the school who was aware of the bullies. She gave me 6 minutes of her times before rudely saying that she had to go because someone walked in her office and then quickly hung up. The director agreed with the teacher and the parents of the bullies were never notified and the bullies (mainly one) were never sent to her office. They IGNORED THE BULLING AND SAID IT WILL CONTINUE!

Mountain Oak inspires a deep love of learning. Our children learn how to learn not just how to spit back memorized facts. There are many mainstream teachers who send their children to this school. Small class sizes and an emphasis on a holistic learning style. Waldorf is the way to go.

If your child need's love and a warm environment to learn. Then Mountain Oak is the right school for your child. This school is hands on with the arts at it's core. My son's favorite part of the elementary school experience is that he stay's with the same teacher from k-8th grades. For my son's 6th grade geology block they went on four day field study to Sunset Crater Grand Canyon and Grand Canyon Caverns. The teachers principal and staff are the most dedicated group of educators on the planet! Thank You. Former Home School-er

My daughter went to this school for six years and loved it! This is by far the best school I have ever seen. Mountain Oak students take safe walks in the morning and often plant gardens...they are very eco. friendly. Please donate to this school. It would mean a lot to our friendly little society!

My daughter has been attending MOCS for 5 years and I am so impressed. She started out as a shy introverted child and with the help of the teachers there she has blossomed. I love the fact that the school is art/music based. The teachers have all been so wonderful. I have and would continue to highly recommend this school.

This is a great school who's students love to be there. They include music and art and movement into the curriculum and the children learn and remember so much better with this style learning. The parents are invited and encouraged to take an active part in the school which fosters a feeling of community involvement in our youngsters. The teachers truly care for the children in their classes and the children form a close bond with the teacher who goes up in grades with thier class. I see students who are insightful and intelligent respected as individuals and respectful of others. I see great possibilities for these students.

We feel so lucky to have found this Waldorf Charter school for our kids. Our kids love it its free. I only wish we had know about this gem before we purchased a home. The teachers are totally dedicated to bringing a love of learning to our children.

A Waldorf school for free I wish that I had known about this 7 years ago my old private Waldorf school started at $2000 and within 5 years was at $7500 and rising every year. To be able to have a free Waldorf school in a place as nice as Prescott Arizona what a blessing. Mountain Oak is currently a K - 8 hopefully soon we can be a pre-k - 12 and then all of the families out there struggling to afford a private Waldorf school can all move here to Prescott to enjoy the wonderful Prescott climate and an awesome Waldorf education with a growing caring community that values their children and their one childhood that they have to live. Our children have a whole life of being an adult let's give them the very best childhood we can then they can grow into wonderful creative caring adults.
