Ratings & Reviews

My husband and I had a great experience working with Adam to buy our first home. We found him to be extremely knowledgeable about Durham and current Durham market,as we are relatively new to the area. He gave us great feedback about what areas of town might be a good fit for what we were looking for and what we would be able to afford in those areas. This expertise was also invaluable when we made an offer on a house. He had a good sense of the value of the house we wanted and we were able to make a competitive bid based on his advice. He also has a great understanding of renovations (the process, building codes, historic renovations, etc.) which is so helpful if that is something you are considering. He was reliable, flexible, and available. We had limited times available for showings, and Adam went out of his way to make sure we were able to see the houses we wanted to when we were available before they were snatched off the market. He was also trustworthy and interpersonally great to spend so much time with! We would definitely recommend him!

Bought a Single Family home in 2015 for approximately $200K in Durham, NC.

My husband and I worked with Adam to buy a home in Durham. As first time home buyers, Adam guided us through the process and answered all of our questions. He was responsive and professional and we were pleased with the entire process. We would certainly recommend Adam to anyone looking to buy or sell a home in the triangle.

Bought a Single Family home in 2015 for approximately $375K in Durham, NC.

We worked with Adam to find our perfect first-time home in Durham. Adam understood exactly what we were looking for, even when we weren't quite sure ourselves. He patiently endured our indecisiveness and provided encouragement when we were outbid. Adam showed us over a dozen homes in the Durham area, sometimes ones we found ourselves. His picks for us were always spot-on and his experience placing young, inexperienced couples like ourselves in the right house showed every time. He answered more than his fair share of questions from us, having no idea what we were doing. Adam had his finger on the pulse of Durham, contacting us the second a new house was listed – sometimes even earlier! We were often lucky enough to be the first potential buyers in the house. One morning, when we were leaving town for our wedding, Adam dropped everything to show us a home in Duke Park before we left. We decided to make an offer on the spot, knowing that this was the best house we had seen yet. Adam put us in touch with a local mortgage broker to improve our chances of winning the house. We worked out the details from the car that day. This week we closed on that house and couldn’t be happier!

Showed home in 2014 in Durham, NC.

We did not have a good experience with Adam. The first clue should have been when he answered his phone 4 times during the one hour introductory meeting we had with him. He showed us the properties we specifically asked to see and then took us to properties that were listed by his company that were completely different from what we said we were looking for. After an initial search, he was difficult to get in touch with and not particularly pleasant when we did interact. He also required us to sign a buyer contract, so we ultimately put off buying a house so that we could wait the contract out and work with someone else. It was just a bad experience start to finish, and we would not recommend working with him.

Clearly this account of what they experienced is completely at odds with what all of my other clients report about working with me. I take client service and my agency responsibilities extremely seriously. I have attempted to contact this reviewer via Zillow to open a dialogue with them, and confirm that we ever actually met and if so, if we actually entered into an agency relationship. Their profile is anonymous, and Zillow customer service can't/won't connect us. As you can see, this is my first bad review, and it's a doozy, so I certainly want to learn from it what I can. Thus, I've taken some time to go back over my agency paperwork since 2012. Of the handful of people who signed a buyer agency agreement with me, but didn't buy a home, none match the chain of events described by this reviewer. Hopefully they will see this response and reach out privately so I can understand what happened, apologize to them if warranted, and learn from all this. Thanks for reading!

Bought a Single Family home in 2013 for approximately $300K in Durham, NC.

As I set forth to buy my home in 2013 I had a dream of living in Durham, but was not sure that it would become my reality. After looking at a home one Sunday morning outside of Durham, Adam announced, "let's go look at one in Durham." That "look" resulted in the single best purchase that I have ever made in my life. Adam's genuine personality and listening skills allow him to develop a strong sense of what his clients are looking for in their home. Adam's knowledge of local real estate is broad and accurate. Being a first time home buyer I was quite green about the process. Adam was patient and a good "teacher" as we worked together towards closing day. There truly is not a better home for us, and, thanks to Adam's awareness of the market and knowledge of his clients, we were the first to see the home and the first to make an offer. Thank you, thank you, Adam!

Bought a Single Family home in 2015 for approximately $575K in Durham, NC.

My husband and I highly recommend Adam. He was fantastic since day 1. As we were not sure about what type of unit to buy (condo vs house), he showed us several different alternatives and he always put our interests first over his. In several occasions, he recommended us not to buy a particular house as something better would come out. And it did! When we found the perfect home, he conducted negotiations professionally and helped us out during every step of the closing. After the sale, he continued to be an instrumental part of the process in recommending excellent contractors for renovations and other services. Overall, we are grateful to him for finding an amazing home for us! And of course, we would not hesitate to have him again as our realtor in our next transaction.

As first time home-buyers who were new to the area, it was amazing to work with such a comprehensive and knowledgeable agent. He had us covered every step of the process, even navigating us through a competitive bidding war (we got what we wanted, at our price), followed by negotiating everything we wanted during a tricky due diligence period. I recommend him to all my friends, and the ones who have used him have the same great things to say!

Bought a home in 2014 in Shannon Plaza, Durham, NC 27707.

Adam was a fantastic realtor for us as picky first time home buyers! We were new to the Durham area and Adam did a great job of listening to our wants while also educating us on all our options that fit our needs. He is very patient and makes himself available to immediately see new listings, knowing some would only stay on the market for 1 or 2 days. He was also helpful on advising us about possible renovations and work needed for certain houses. We will certainly hope to get Adam to sell our house when we're ready to grow. Can't recommend him enough!

Sold a Single Family home in 2011 for approximately $250K in Durham, NC.

Worked with Adam in 2011 to purchase a single-family home in Trinity Park. Knowing the area as he did, Adam was able to get me in as the second person to view the house and then move quickly to get an offer in. He managed negotiations effectively and got me into the house for an amazing deal. Afterwards, Adam has been instrumental in helping me connect with contractors, designers, HVAC guys, plumbers, and numerous others who have helped me renovate the house. His rolodex is unparalleled!

Sold a home in 2013 in Cabes Ford, Durham, NC 27705.

He is an expert in real estate and in the Durham community. We had two houses for sale by him, and he was successful in selling both of them. He did a very professional and prompt job. I would work with him again.
