I've been toying with the idea of trying to sell my home near Greenlake. I've heard there are currently more buyers for homes at a price point where the buyer would have a conforming loan (currently capped at $567,500 in King County). Simply because it's a lot easier for a buyer to get approved for a conforming loan these days vs a larger one. So the takeaway on this is that Seattle sellers with homes priced @$500k or above are having a harder time selling...Curious anyone's experience or opinion on this?
There was a clerical error in an early version of Q1 data Zillow provided to WSJ. The story has since been corrected to indicate that just over 1:5 all homeowners is now underwater on a mortgage. Still a big number, unfortunately. I live nearby and would love to see this home.
Yes, actually there are ghosts in the White House, or so we hear. There is more about it in this post on White House Trivia (the last item):http://www.zillowblog.com/little-known-facts-about-the-white-house/2009/01/
Brian-Logan is right -- and you can find out more about Make Me Move here:http://www.zillow.com/postings/MakeMeMove.htmWe don't track Make Me Move sales, since the transactions occur outside Zillow, but we've heard some really interesting stories. Homes people have admired from afar, or a childhood home someone covets as an adult. Some people also just use it to test the waters prior to officially listing their home for sale.Amy (from Zillow)
Yes - Zillow has enough information to calculate a Zestimate (estimated value today) on approximately 68 million homes. Enter your address in the search box above (after "find" select "homes" and enter the address). You can also learn more about Zestimates here:http://www.zillow.com/howto/Zestimate.htm
Interesting Wall Street Journal post today of the same title... basically saying think long and hard before buying in today's market. Agree/disagree??
Yes, for what it's worth, I run PR at Zillow and I told Spencer to wear a jacket (which he then forgot to pack). So Spencer, I told you so. :)
