DC Agent | VA Agent | MD Agent
Aras Butas has spent the majority of his life in the Washington, D.C area and always thinks of Lake Barcroft as his home. Raised on Grasshill Terrace, Aras attended local schools: Glasgow Middle School and O'Connell High School. For college, Aras moved south to North Carolina for four years where he attended Elon University and majored in Business, with a minor in Art, matriculating with a B.S in 1997. After graduation Aras moved farther south to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he started his own business and became a licensed commercial real estate agent with ReMax.
In 2003, Aras moved back to Virginia and worked in corporate sales while studying for his Virginia real estate exam. He is currently licensed in Virginia, DC and Maryland, and specializes in single-family homes and high- end properties inside the Beltway. With his acute knowledge of the area and his commitment to helping other families find a place to call home, Aras is a wealth of all things home-related and an outstanding agent to work with.
Married in 2004, Aras lived locally in the Arlington-Courthouse neighborhood, but often thought of his childhood days in Lake Barcroft. He missed the beaches, fishing, friends and lifestyle of this unique community and the lifestyle he once enjoyed while living here.
In 2006, with his first baby on the way, Aras got the itch to move from a condo to a more spacious home. He knew immediately that he wanted to return to the beloved neighborhood of his early years, Lake Barcroft. After convincing his wife, Daphne, that Lake Barcroft was the ideal neighborhood for them, an intense six-month house hunting process began in the fall and ended in July when the couple purchased their home on Crosswoods Drive; and its a good thing they did because two more beautiful babies, Brooke and Bruce, quickly followed and now the couple's home is filled with the sounds of little ones enjoying their young days in Lake Barcroft, just as their Daddy did 30 years ago.
In his spare time, Aras enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, fishing and working on his Jeep Scrambler, fondly named "Mater." Aras also enjoys hosting parties, enjoying the outdoors, traveling and spending time with his kids.
In 2007, Aras and wife, Daphne moved back to Lake Barcoft and the couple now lives just two blocks away from the house Aras grew up in, with their growing family: Bruno, Brooke and Bruce. Aras and Daphne love how unique their neighborhood is and feel that it is the perfect place to raise their children and 9- year old bulldog, Abby. Aras is a family man first and foremost which is why he chooses to sell real estate – so that he can help other families find a place to call home.
