Bought a Single Family home in 2014 for approximately $100K in Strathmore, Syracuse, NY.
Barbara was really helpful, personable, and kind. We really enjoyed working with Barbara! She was also incredibly fast at responding to questions. Barbara really took the extra time to make sure we felt comfortable with our choice.
My husband and I worked with Barbara to find a house recently. She was such a pleasure to work with. She was really warm and always got back to us immediately. Barbara was also very knowledgeable. I highly recommend Barbara!
Barbara is so fantastic and really helped us in finding our dream home. She went above and beyond with scheduling showings for us, which was hard since we lived out of state, several hours away. She always made herself available via phone or email, no matter what time of day we contacted her. Great agent!
Sold a Single Family home in 2014 for approximately $100K in Syracuse, NY.
For: Barbara Watkins, R.E. Agent
Selling my property was a tough issue during a very down market. Leslie Schoen, my “signing agent,” stuck with me until the closing and helped me sell my house in a manner head and shoulders above, and more than any other agent would have. Barbara Watkins worked as diligently as Leslie with all stages of my selling process.
Of course a Real Estate Agent cannot fabricate a buyer, but can only create an invitation to make the property as attractive as possible. Leslie and Barbara helped me understand that potential buyers cannot clearly see past certain cosmetic changes which may be needed. I made changes as they recommended and potential buyers were no longer distracted by superficial appearances while they admired the better qualities of my property.
Leslie and Barbara also made special efforts to hold an open-house; not just once or twice, but time and time again as if they were personally involved and cared about the property being sold. Potential buyers came but because of the nature of the market it took time until offers finally materialized.
I have to confess I did have a separate Property Manager. My reasoning was a Manager would facilitate showing the house because I had moved a long distance away from the property. Regardless of my absence Leslie Schoen and especially Barbara Watkins maintained active and frequent communications with me about difficulties which arose.
Clearly they helped me in making the correct decision concerning the Property Manager and once this individual was removed, showing the house became much easier. I cannot give adequate praise to Ms. Schoen and Barbara Watkins for sticking with me through these difficulties. I suspect other agents might have quit on me in frustration.
When an offer was finally received, there were two at the same time. They helped in deciding which was the most reliable for consummating a sale. Barbara was prompt with transmitting required documents, coordinated often with my Attorney on necessary issues, and reassured the buyer’s agent by actively responding to their needs and inquiries. When hand-holding was needed, Barbara and Leslie were there to walk through the process. I never felt like I was alone in the matter.
Once a buyer had been selected and the final process was underway, they still remained close with me for final issues which arose. Barbara was especially helpful during the Home Inspection by opening a water valve for the home inspector which seemed unable to locate. They also helped me find laborers for a sweep-through of the house and disposition of some residual materials which needed to be cleared before the final closing. Ms. Schoen and Ms. Watkins were concerned about details even until the day before the signing of the papers. I was never alone.
I truly wish I could have sold the house for more, not just because I wanted the most for my investment, but because I felt my Real Estate Agents, Leslie Schoen and Barbara Watkins had really earned a larger commission than what I had signed up for. I can’t imagine any other agent sticking with me through thick and thin in the manner they did.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience with Barbara. We were moving clear across the country and it was nice to be welcomed by such a warm, knowledgeable realtor. Her love of houses and Syracuse was evident and she was able to answer many of our questions. She was organized and punctual and offered us a great buying experience! Highly recommended!
Barbara really took me under her wing and helped me find a place fast. She was very comforting when I told her my concerns about finding the right place. Down to earth and warm, I felt like I could trust Barbara. She's also very experienced and I knew I could rely on her. She thought of things I didn't even consider. Plus, she never rushed me into looking at a place or making a decision. She was 100% real and very down-to-earth. I would recommend Barbara highly and know anyone would love working with her.
I worked with Barbara and her daughter Leslie finding my first home. Needless to say I was very overwhelmed seeing as this was my first home but Barbara was wonderful with answering all of my questions and never hesitating to meet me to see a house at any time. She was very honest and helpful with things that as a first time buyer I never would have thought of. I am very happy I had Barbara helping me find my home.
Barbara and Leslie made buying a home a wonderful experience. She showed us a lot of houses and always made looking a pleasant experience. She knew a lot about houses and what we should look for. She had a lot of insight on renovating houses and what "fixes" would be easy and which would be hard. Extremely patient with first time homebuyers and always kept us in the loop throughout the process.
