Michelle's involvement in real estate begin in 1986, with the Co-op conversion of 33 Greenwich Avenue. She was hired by the developer to sell the unsold shares of this rental building. Michelle joined the building in February 1985 and by November 1986 the building officially converted. Michelle moved forward to become the Director of Sales at the Condo conversion at 250 East 65th Street. After this conversion, Michelle became Director of Sales for the Co-op conversion at 161 West 16th Street Cooperatives, also known at the time as the Barney's Building. In addition to the Sale responsibilities,for the conversions, she designed the marketing plan, model apartments, print marketing concept as well as the exterior building signage . Further expanding her career, she became the exclusive agent to many properties of a New York developer handling the sales and sublease of their properties. In 1995, Michelle established Barshay Brokerage with her husband Benjamin. Michelle has spent over 25 years in the Real Estate business. Michelle lives in Manhattan and her children attended pre-school through high school in Manhattan. She is a seasoned New Yorker and in addition. supports the following organizations, Greenwich Village Historical Society, Jefferson Market Garden, Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site, Merchant House Museum, High Line.
