Betty just helped my husband and I buy our new home in Leucadia! We moved from Los Angeles 2.5 years ago and have been looking on and off ever since. We thought with the recessionary economy and post sub-prime crisis, we would score a deal and have tons of options but it was just the opposite. The lack of inventory and holding prices were super frustrating, but Betty stuck it out with us and encouraged us to keep looking by finding property after property. We were super picky clients too! We wanted to be within a certain distance from the highway, wanted a decent size lot, needed an accessory unit for my mother-in-law and had a strict budget. She showed us upwards of 25 properties in the area and really went to bat for us when we made our offers. She was persistent and firm with the selling agents, walked us through every step of the escrow phase and really went above and beyond our expectations during the due diligence to make sure that we covered all potential risks. Our ability to buy the house hinged on having the accessory unit and with this particular property, we were going to have to build it. So not only did she make sure the house was sound to buy, she also helped us make sure that we were going to be able to add the granny flat by contacting the city permit office, contractors, County Health Dept, roofers, electricians, plumbers, etc. And to top it off, she does a ton of volunteer work in the community. How she finds the time is really beyond me. But bottom line is Betty Steele clearly cares for her clients in ways that I doubt most real estate agents do. She's a long-time resident of north county, highly-respected in the community, and will go to lengths to help you find your dream home.
