Bought a Single Family home in 2010 in Woodminster, Oakland, CA.

Summary:

Patient and kind are the first words I would use to describe Bill. He was our contact realtor while we lived in TX for many years. We kept telling him we were going to move back...Bill never faltered on feeding us current market knowledge, nor lost faith in our claims of us "wanting to return". Finally, in Feb. of 2011 we closed on our dream home in the Oakland Hills. I would not only recommend Bill Fletcher for locals but if you are moving here from out of town, he made it possible to for us to handle many of our necessary transactions from a distance. Sold a Single Family home in 2011 for approximately $575k in Berkeley, CA.

Summary:

We (my son and I) just sold our house in a slow market with Bill's excellent advice and help as our listing agent. He had excellent connections with various people to supply various needs, too. Bought a Single Family home in 2010 for approximately $650k in El Cerrito, CA.

If I could give Bill 10 stars in every category, I would!!

Bill helped me buy my first home in 2010. Before I met him, I was worried about getting a real estate agent that was really pushy, because I wasn't sure when my husband and I would be ready to buy a home and I wanted to take it one step at a time. Bill was the perfect match for us! He really listened to what we needed, provided calm guidance and support through every step of the process, and was extremely knowledgeable about other agents and the housing market. We leaned on Bill's expertise many times throughout the searching, bidding and escrow process. He was able to keep us calm when we were freaking out and navigate any problem when it arose, helping us stay on track and finally find the house that was right for us.

I am perhaps best known in the Bay area for my 20 plus years of dedicated service and leadership in the field of education. During these years, I have been entrusted with the care of thousands of children and have met and interacted, with many people of all ethnicities, sexual orientations, economic and religious backgrounds. Together we have worked on and solved many problems. We have found ways to meet the needs of families and children that in some cases went unaddressed for many years.

In life there are major periods of transition that we go through. These might be: the birth of a baby, a marriage, a partnership, a new job, or the end of a relationship such as a death or divorce. My background is not only in education. While I hold degrees in education at the graduate level, I have also run my own businesses in Tucson and Prescott, AZ. I have built my own house. I play music (piano, banjo), love gardening, have seven children of my own, six of whom I raised as a single parent (just the laundry was overwhelming!), discovered golf six years ago and am addicted to it (I'd also like to be good at it), written a book that nobody reads (I'm fascinated with words), learned how to read horoscopes, am beginning to learn Feng-shui, enjoy skiing and river rafting, start my day with meditation and journaling, love baseball (at every level) and world cup soccer (used to have my referees license), and, of course, I absolutely love children.  I grew up in New England but have also lived in Arizona and New York. I moved to the Bay area in 1985 and have lived in South Berkeley since 2001.
