Personal Profile
I was born in Fort Worth, Texas because my father was in the Air Force. Being an Air Force family, we lived throughout the U.S. and Japan. I enjoyed the experience of many cultures and environments.

My acquaintance and love of Santa Barbara came as a result of living here two years while my father was in Vietnam. I attended La Cumbre Junior High and Santa Barbara High School.

Our family completed the Air Force years in Arizona where I completed my schooling, including college. In Arizona, I was a Manager in the Title and Escrow industry, which closely interacts with real estate. This association led me in focusing and changing to my present career.

In 1983, my wife, three daughters and I made Santa Barbara our home. I became a licensed agent working for Merrill Lynch Realty, which after many acquisitions throughout the years is now Coldwell Banker a 90 -year-old real estate company.

My hobbies include basketball (those who no longer play now coach), camping, dirt bike riding and golf when I have the chance. My love of sports and kids allowed me the privilege of becoming a youth basketball coach at the local Youth Sports Center and coordinator of a yearly fund-raiser for Christmas Unity and the Youth Sports Center. I enjoy teaching kid’s teamwork, sportsmanship, as well as the love of sports. I'm also involved in our church as a Sunday school teacher.

My wife and I are the proud grandparents to four grandkids whose lives have impacted us beyond what can be explained here. With one single daughter left to marry our hopes of more grandchildren in the future is exciting. Our love of travel has taken us through some of the continental U.S. and Hawaii, as well as Europe, the Middle East, and China.

In 1991, we decided to host students coming to the U.S. from Asia, Europe, and South America to improve their English skills at local schools. To date, we have hosted 32 students. This year, fall of 2006 we will go to Switzerland and have a reunion with approximately 15 of our students from Switzerland and Germany (we call them our kids). We have been truly blessed and these students go beyond what we ever imagined. It's an experience we highly recommend.
