I was recently in the market for a vacation home in the vicinity of Palm Harbor, Florida. After reading literally hundreds of realtor profiles, I selected Brenda Godsey based on her experience as a full-time professional agent, as well as her knowledge of the entire area of Palm Harbor and Tarpon Springs to Clearwater and Dunedin. Since I was not familiar with the area, I wanted someone who could help me select the best location for my needs and interests. This was potentially going to be my retirement home, and I was prepared to spend a significant amount to get the amenities was looking for. I needed someone who knew the market, neighborhoods, builders, price trends, etc. for a large area under consideration. From the first phone call to interview Brenda, I felt confident that I had made the right choice. I grew up in a real estate family, my father was a broker, and I have made numerous investments in real estate over the years, so I recognize and know the value of a professional agent. Brenda gave all the right indications from the get-go. She asked the right questions, provided excellent pointers and suggestions to get my search going, and set me up with some specialized tools that facilitated our long distance communication and work together researching properties. This was extremely helpful, as I'm an executive with a large company and travel frequently. I really needed someone who could act as my 'assistant' if you will, on the project known as 'find my perfect Florida home'! Brenda and I worked for several weeks identifying potential neighborhoods and properties. During this time she was always engaged and immediately available, providing great feedback and input, and following up on questions and issues. When I scheduled my trip down to house hunt, she dedicated her time to me and was ready to hit the ground running for our time together. I cannot stress enough how amazingly well organized Brenda was in preparing for my visit. She had all appointments scheduled in the optimum order based on our review of available properties, a binder with listing handouts and additional information for all our viewings, even snacks and drinks in the cooler. She made the day fun as well as highly productive, educating me on communities as we proceeded down the list. Once I had identified the neighborhood and property I wanted, she worked with me to prepare a negotiation strategy, which we executed successfully, resulting in a better deal for me than I would have thought possible. After the sale, Brenda went miles beyond the call of realtor duty, following up on many details, attending the inspection on my behalf, dealing with inspection items with relevant parties, ensuring I was provided with all necessary contacts for utilities, the HOA, etc. She didn't stop until every last minor detail was ticked and tied up with a bow, even arranging to get the locks changed for me on closing day. I have never purchased a home remotely before, and as you can imagine, there are lots of logistics involved. Brenda made it easy, making the closing happen seamlessly by mail and email, being there for me when I could not physically be there. She even did the walkthrough with me over the phone so I could ask questions and make sure everything was right. Brenda Godsey is a pro in the real estate business. I've known dozens if not hundreds of agents in my life, and I have never met anyone better. She closes her emails with the saying 'Yours to Count on', and you can take that to the bank.…More Less
