My wife and I hired Brett as the listing agent to sell our home in San Jose. Before we hired Brett, we interviewed 3 other listing agents and picked Brett based on his creative marketing ideas to quickly sell our home. Brett worked with us in coming up with a home improvement plan that provided us the best return on upgrade $$$. Our time line was very tight and Brett delivered against the mutually-agreed upon plan in a timely fashion. Multiple quotes were obtained for the upgrades, which helped reduce out-of-pocket costs to us and kept the contractors honest with their bids. Of course, issues arise but Brett always has a nice calming way of handling matters. The chosen contractors worked well under his direction and this took a lot of pressure of us, especially when we were settling into a new home. With the tight schedule, admittedly, we were quite demanding of Brett's time. Final result was an excellent presentation of our home which resulted in multiple offers and a final price well above asking price. Me and my husband looked for a house for a while and it was our first time buying so we didn't know much about it. Brett explained everything to us in detail, was very patient with us and gave us many options, asked questions and suggested solutions. He recommended what would be best for us. Finding Brett was simple luck for us. He exceeded any and all expectations i had for a real estate agent. To start, we were clear on only one thing - schools. Brett helped us start out search and clarify our own expectations. We were looking in multiple areas and he was honest to us from the get go on which areas he was well versed in. In one occasion, he gave us advise and recommendations, even when he knew we might not close the transaction with him. That incident proved to me that he did indeed look out for us. Following that, we saw many houses, and there were times when we could not find anything. Maybe strange to say, but i did find him to be more patient than i was, often promising that he will get us into a house that we like and not to lose patience. One of the specific points i appreciate about Brett was that he gave us a very good range (and narrow) range on what we should consider paying for a house and he was very close to what it ultimately went for. Zillow estimates are just one thing, but when there are many buyers, knowing this range was super helpful, and in some cases, we got out knowing we were exceeding the right price.
By just another luck (this time bad), we ended up with a very poor seller's agent on the other side of the transaction. An agent who literary bullied us. And i can just say, that having Brett by our side allowed us to go through the purchase in-spite of the seller's agent, the hurdles from the previous owners, the negotiations, and detailed inspections and logistics of the purchase. I cannot imagine any other agent who could have handled this as how Brett did.
As a person, he is super knowledgeable about the area (especially south/west San Jose, Almaden, Los Gatos, Campbell, Cambrian etc), he has a wonderful personality, always reachable, and is a pleasure to talk to. By the way, he has an excellent network of people from loan officers, rental agencies, contractors, and you name it. We ended up utilizing the services of multiple of his contacts and feel glad we did.
I whole heartedly recommend Brett for buying your home, especially your first home. Since there is just so much he can help out with. For us it was our second home, so i was supposed to know stuff, and i did not, and totally appreciated experience working with him. Recalling my experience for my first home, an agent such as Brett is a must.

As a first time home buyer, I wanted a real estate agent to help me understand and enjoy the home buying process. I was lucky enough to find just what I was looking for with Brett. Since I was looking to purchase in San Francisco, I had some concerns that an agent based in the city might be a better fit. After meeting a few of these agents I quickly realized how wrong I was. Brett was patient and made an overwhelming process (for a 1st time buyer like me) immediately comfortable and manageable. He took the time to find out what was important to me in a property but also made suggestions based on his knowledge of the area. He also did not push me to make any hasty decisions and let me have time to think about this big decision between the weekends we went out looking; really important to me that I could take my time!
When it came to actually purchasing my condo, I originally had my heart set on a 1-br and had even put down a deposit in one location. When we walked out of that property Brett asked me if there were any other places I had ANY second thoughts about and might want another look. We ended up going back to one of the first properties we saw 6 months earlier. Although I was still intimidated at the cost, Brett was able to work out a purchase plan that would fit with my main goals (a low monthly mortgage). I ended up buying a the 3-br condo I had first fell in love with, a much better fit for me, at a price I didn't know I could originally afford. Thanks to Brett's guidance in suggesting a property with room to grow, I am now extremely happy! He had the foresight into what would be a better long-term purchase for me, but also waited for me to realize this, rather than push it.
I also want to note that throughout the process, I was extremely confident in Brett's knowledge of each step and I really felt like he was on my side. No matter how naive a question I had, Brett took the time to answer it earnestly and in a way that made sense to me. He also never scoffed at my budget or housing price range and never tried to push me outside of it. I really felt like a team. I have since recommended Brett to friends and family alike who now share my sentiments.
