Working with Cheryl was a wonderful experience, because she is the consummate professional. She is knowledgeable, patient, and prepared. Trying to buy a home in the competitive LaMorinda market was an exhausting experience. My wife and I look at home buying in completely different ways. With any house, my wife's first priority was to inspect the outside of the house, specifically the backyard and determine if there was adequate light and area for the kids to play and for her to garden. My priority was to inspect the inside of the house and evaluate the floor plan and the condition of the house. It is no surprise that we often disagreed on houses. Houses my wife liked, I vetoed. Houses that I liked, my wife rejected.
Cheryl was smart enough to not act as the tie-breaker! Instead, she worked with us to identify what we each valued the most and then worked tirelessly to find the home that would satisfy both of us and fit in our price range. Through out the entire process she never pressured us to bid on a house or act discouraged if we chose not to bid on a particular house. I can not over emphasize this. In a business based on commissions, Cheryl never ever acted as if our commission was her top priority. Instead, she made clear that helping us find a home that we loved is her top priority and she helped us every way that she could.
She is passionate when it comes to the LaMorinda area and she developed an expertise in the area that was invaluable. She knows all the realtors in town and her expert knowledge of the local properties was invaluable when it came to developing a successful bidding strategy. Having a realtor that the listing agent knows and is comfortable working with is extremely valuable. Cheryl knew how to structure our bid to make it attractive to the selling agent. It was not just the amount of money we offered that was attractive, but waiving some contingencies and offering a quick close were additional factors that made our offer stand out.
Lastly, even after we closed escrow, Cheryl was with us every step of the way as we transitioned into the new house. Cheryl was present at every inspection, every repair, and every orientation. It is clear that she will do everything she can to make the process go as smoothly as possible. If we ever sell or if we ever buy again, I hope to work with Cheryl again and I recommend her to all my friends and family.

Cheryl was fabulous to work with and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking in the East Bay or LaMorinda area. First, Cheryl was extremely patient with my husband and I, as we looked for over a year in the LaMorinda and Walnut Creek area. My husband and I approached buying a home from completely different viewpoints. While I tried to get a sense for the "feel" of a house, my husband was focused on the price per square foot and the amount of "work" that needed to be put in the house. Cheryl listened to both of our concerns and patiently worked with us until we could find a house that met both of our needs. Many times after a long, difficult day of house hunting, my husband and I would discuss our differing viewpoints with her. Cheryl was always professional and polite. She understands that buying a home can be an extremely stressful situation and she handled that by always being calm and prepared.
Our schedule was unpredictable and at times we would call her the day before and say that we were available to see houses the next day. Cheryl always made time for us. When we arrived in her office, she had maps prepared and she gave us her analysis of each property we were about to see.
When we first started looking, we would spend a whole Saturday or Sunday with her. She can drive for hours without getting tired - even with kids fighting in the back. Other times, and on very short notice, we would rush through houses during our lunch break. Cheryl always made us feel that accommodating our schedule was a priority of hers. Moreover, Cheryl has developed an expertise in the intimate and competitive LaMorinda area. She knows her business and the local agents and contractors know her. When our purchase offer was accepted, I had no idea how many little things needed to be done for escrow to close smoothly and on time. However, Cheryl knew exactly what to do. She made sure that our home inspection was done by experts she trusted and she quickly arranged for contractors to provide estimates or necessary repairs. She handled everything while taking the time to educate us at every turn. We are now in the process of moving into our new home and I know she will be a resource for many years to come. This is her area and I would highly recommend her as a professional and as a person.
