What Is Monroe Like?
Well I have lived here a long time and I know the area very well. I am also a realtor and sell lots of houses around here. Monroe is a hot place to be and most of the calls we get are for this area. !0 years ago, no one knew where we were, now everyone wants to live here. It's a very family-friendly place to live. It's a decent commute to NYC, westchester and jersey. There are some cute shops in town and its close to everything. Come by for our cheese festival this summer. It's a blast. Also, I am very involved with the local library. It is small but runs some great programs and does a lot for children. Monroe is a nice place to live. It's countryish but not so far out there. We even have an excellent NYC style restaurant in town called the Velvet Monkey. I have a detailed commuter guide on my site with info on all the buses and trains. Check my profile for the link.

What is Highland mills like?
I am very familiar with this area as I went to the local high school and have lived here over twenty years. It's a great spot for commuters and is close to restaurants and shopping. Nice place to raise a family and always stuff to do. Not as rural as other parts of Orange but still country. Nice mix, you can get away from it all but still be not that far away. I have two listings in this area and it is very sought after.

What is washinntonville like?
I live here and we love it. My daughter goes to the English rose day school in town and washingtonville pediatrics is excellent. They are building a brand new facility. The town has some great little americana shops, nice delis and a few other stores. It's quiet, but not far from big shopping areas and is an easy commute to the city. Very pretty, country town with a lot to offer. It's a good life here. And of course, there's always something going on at the brotherhood winery, that's the oldest winery in the country, right here!

What is greenwood lake like?
This is a fun, resort like area. I used to be a lifeguard there many years ago and there was always stuff to do. Not far from the jersey border, shopping and recreation. Beautiful lake for boating, waterskiing, ice fishing, swimming, jet skiing, etc. Very popular area.

What is this area like?
This is located on a quiet part of Monroe and on a lake. It's a very pretty area, very quiet. A few summer homes and year round homes. It's a short drive to the center of town, but you almost feel like you are in a private park.

What is Washingtonville Like?
I live in washingtonville and love it. It's a nice, quiet little town with just enough shops to keep main street interesting. If you feel like going to shop someplace bigger, new windsor, middletown and harriman where the big shopping is, is not far away. The neighbors are very nice and I really enjoy living here. My daughter goes to the English Rose Day school a few days a week and loves it. We're very happy with it. Also, washingtonville pediatrics is great and now they are moving even closer into town in a brand, new building. It's a nice life here, very family-oriented environment. What is Highland Mills Like?
Highland mills is a very nice area, they have access to the woodbury rec center, it's close to woodbury commons, a brand new restaurant called Cosimo's just opened and it's fabulous. It's also perfect for commuters because it has excellent access to the NYS thruway and 17. I have sold a number of homes in this area and I've also grown up here. I graduated from the local high school and know the area intimately. Christine Ford Guidry www.terryfordrealty.com
