Nina Magon is a multi-award winning interior designer with a passion for creating spaces that are singular and reflective of the clients who live in them. As President and Creative Director of Contour Interior Design in Houston, Nina seeks to first create a vision and then execute it for each client, designing one-of-a-kind environments, each tailored to the client's unique taste, with an emphasis on skillfully executed, flawless detail.
Contour is lauded in its industry for its integration of design innovation, construction expertise, and business acumen.
Nina received a Bachelor of Science in Economics & Finance from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX, with post-graduate studies in architecture and design at The Art Institute of Houston. Her first speculative house, which Nina designed from concept through construction and décor in Houston's upscale neighborhood of West University in 2006, sold for close to a million dollars within two months of completion.
In 2013, Nina won the categories of Best Customer Service & Best Interior Designer by Houzz.com, and Best Interior Architecture and Best Commercial Interior by Paper City, Best Commercial Interior by ASID, among other accolades.
She is a member of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), Interior Design Society (IDS), American Association of Interior Designers (ASID), and the Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA).
Nina dedicates her free time to many non-profit organizations in the Greater Houston area, and founded the Houston Chapter of TIE-FE now known as Young TIE (The Young Indus Entrepreneurs), in 2002.
Celebrated in the industry for her elegance and personal sense of style, Nina placed second in the Miss Asia America Texas Pageant in 2001 and won the pageant's "Best in Interview."
Nina is scheduled to appear on NBC's American Dream Builders premiering March 23, 2013, where 12 of the best interior designers in the nation compete against each other in a head to head competition for the title of American Dream Builder.
