Best thing to do is call in 3 agents and go with the one you feel the most comfortable with.
If the neighborhood is full of fences it may increase the price but if most are with out fences adding one will separate your home from the majority and will probably decrease the value.
I did this years ago and the tile is still looking great.
In my experience the stained wood is much more popular.
