A native of San Antonio, Craig Browning graduated from Alamo Heights High School and received a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. He returned to Texas to continue his education with an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.  Prior to joining the Phyllis Browning Company, Craig worked in the commercial construction industry focusing on project management and the development of new business. His knowledge of construction is a great asset to his clients during real estate transactions.


Craig was selected to participate in the Leadership San Antonio program sponsored by the Greater Chamber and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and has been recognized by the San Antonio Business Journal as a 40 Under 40 rising star in the business community.   Craig currently serves on the boards of the Witte Museum and the St. Luke's Episcopal School. He also serves on committees for the Rotary Club of San Antonio and the Texas Cavaliers. In his spare time Craig enjoys crossfit, cycling, running, and playing golf.

Craig assisted my wife and me with the sale of our large home of 20+ years in Olmos Park (downsizing after our 3 kids had grown), and the purchase of a new home nearby in the AH area. Craig came highly recommended by a friend of my wife, and her high recommendations proved spot on. Craig inspired confidence from our first meeting with his knowledge of the local market and detailed recommendations for steps needed to successfully market our home, but he was also patient as we went through the lengthy process of de-cluttering and readying the house for show---always there to consult with when we needed him but never pestering us to move more quickly than we were ready for. He connected us with a top-notch stager/consultant for more specific advice on readying the home to show for sale and with a savvy photographer, with fees for both covered as part of his services; I think both their services contributed enormously to the quick sale we got. He also worked overtime assisting us with finding suitable comparables for our home in order to set the asking price (with a nicely landscaped pool and a 2-story detached guest quarters/game room/study, our home had some unusual features that made it a challenge to price). With all that groundwork laid, he assisted us in negotiating a contract at almost 99% of our asking price within the first 24 hours of the sign going up and the MLS listing, with a back-up contract also later within the first 24 hours at 100% of the asked price. Since we'd been anticipating a much longer sales process, we hadn't even started to look seriously for our new home at that point, but Craig also kicked that process quickly into gear, showing us more than a dozen homes over the next two weeks in person and providing us daily market info on many dozen more. He assisted us with market contacts for all the ancillary services needed to wrap up the purchase and sale and assisted us through the inspection processes for both homes, staying cool under pressure when a minor encroachment issue needed to be resolved with our home in order to adhere to the closely coordinated schedule for selling the one home and buying the other days later. All of it went very successfully and we couldn't be more pleased with Craig's contributions to the process. Would definitely highly recommend him to others!

Sold a home in 2014 in Nursery, Victoria, TX 77904.

Craig has helped us on both the purchase of a home and the sale of our home, all within seven months time. When moving to San Antonio in Dec. of 2013, he made the transition super easy and handled our real estate transaction with utmost professionalism. Due to my husband's job, we had to sell the same home after seven months and were very fortunate to have Craig, and his assistant, Lauren, represent us again. Sold a Single Family home in 2014 in Oak Park - Northwood, San Antonio, TX.

Craig served as our agent both in selling our home and buying our current one. He gave excellent assistance in selling our home, not only resources and referrals to help with the staging and cost-effective repairs and beautification, but also with the online description, the asking price, and photo presentation of the house. We greatly appreciated his frequent, encouraging checks on the progress of our efforts. The house sold within two days for more than the asking price, thanks to the assistance we received and to his local knowledge. Craig also served us well in his role as buyers' agent. He is knowledgeable about construction because of his academic background. He kept us informed as houses came on the market and was prompt to show us ones we were interested in. The home-buying process went smoothly in every respect, with the only road bumps minor ones that occurred in working with the lender Legacy Mutual.  More Less
