I cannot more highly recommend Dan Callahan to every single person looking to buy a house. I know that I'd use his services again in a second if I had to re-choose a Realtor. Dan could not have been a more knowledgeable, professional, and communicative Realtor. He set himself far apart from every other Realtor that I have worked with. First, and most important to me, Dan is great with communication! You send him or Cori an email and it definitely receives a thoughtful reply that day and usually within an hour or two. Dan also always let me know what was going on through each step of the buying process. I was never left wondering, I never had to ask more than once to receive an answer, and I always felt as if I was a high priority to him.
I gave Dan my price range, the types of houses that I was interested, the size, rooms, bathrooms, lot size, etc., and he completely customized my search to fit what we were looking for in a family home. He also suggested the areas that I should look since my wife and I work so far apart from each other.
When things weren't working out with timing and I wasn't sure if I should continue looking or renew a lease, Dan gave me good and honest advice. The same was said for each and every house that we looked at. I had a pleasant experience buying my first home with Dan and Cori's assistance
I am a perfectionist and I will not settle for anything that I am not 100% happy about. I first looked into the market with the help from another agent. Unfortunately that didn't go anywhere because the more I looked, the more confusion I had as there were so many options out there.... I thought I am capable to find out a perfect home by myself and I only need the agent when closing. But later on I felt like it was not possible...
Basically I updated my computer screen every 15 seconds in order to capture the new listings. I felt like my anxiety level went up and I slept 2 or 3am every night. Whenever I saw something, I would ask the other agent to check for me. He was kind and he showed me everything that I asked to see but I did not feel like I was getting help on the major thing that I need- honest opinions. I kept looking around and around, and I kept finding more places....Plus I was relatively new to Charlotte and that made the selection choice very hard for me.
I was referred to Dan and Cori by one of the lenders that I spoke to when I was calling around for mortgage. I was told that Dan would always fight for the buyer and looked for the best for the buyer. I called Dan immediately and he set up appointment with me in the next 24 hours.
They use a very helpful tool online to help me narrow down my options based on my needs and budget. I could easily see the status of the listing and that saved so much of my time trying to find out whether the places were in contract or not. That helps my anxiety level to come back down.
In addition, Dan was always on time and professional. I am a busy women and I can only check out homes after work. Dan was able to show me places several times on weekends and late afternoon.
What I like about the most is that Dan always gave me objective opinions and advices when I asked questions. He told me all he knew about the neighborhood and answered my questions precisely. I was able to make decision so much quicker and easier with his input. He truly helped me see the whole picture.
Dan kept me positive throughout the whole progress and I did not feel like looking for a place alone. His partner Cori was great help as well. She did so well on all the communications, calling, emails, and paperwork. Cori also showed me my final home when Dan was out of town. If it was not her, I would not have gotten my condo today.
