Bought a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $125K in Trestle Glen, Oakland, CA.
David proactively found the perfect place for us and did an amazing job negotiating for us, getting us a great deal. We were originally going to offer $5k less than the asking price but David encouraged us to offer $40k less on the property that was already very low. They came back with a counter offer and we purchased our condo for $50k less than another unit sold for months later.

Bought a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $1.225M in Trestle Glen, Oakland, CA.
We would not have found our dream home without David. He told us from the beginning that this house was the best one for us, and he knew the area well enough (and got to know us well enough) to truly stand behind his recommendation. He is different from other realtors in that he is not aggressive. Instead he is thoughtful and smart and only gets aggressive when the situation truly calls for it. If you are interested in Oakland, I would highly suggest David. When we first thought of moving here, he spent the entire day with us, teaching us about the area in addition to showing us properties. We found the whole experience with David to be truly special and because of him, we are happy in a house we plan to stay in for a very long time.

Bought a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $375K in Redwood Heights, Oakland, CA.
I recently purchased my first home in a short sale transaction with David Gluck acting as my agent. I can't say enough about how great he was. It began with a lunch meeting where we discussed what my goals were. From there David began forwarding me listings. Never did he send me a listing that strayed far from what my goals/budget were, as many agents are prone to do. As we continued the process of investigating houses he educated me on what to look for and what to avoid, basically taking the time to hold my hand through the process in a very down to earth manner. Eventually we found a home that I was interested in, made an offer, it was accepted and thus began the 5 month negotiation process which eventually ended in me closing on the short sale in early July. David hooked me into a fair and forthright mortgage broker who landed me an excellent mortgage/rate package. He also tied me into inspectors who were extremely thorough, honest and affordable. He explained what I was in for regarding the short sale process, educating me along the way and always taking a call and answering my questions with patience and respect.

Overall, it was a fantastic process. So many people talk of how stressful purchasing a home is. I can tell you that this was not at all my experience, in no small part due to David's advocacy role. Of course there were aspects of the deal that were challenging and led to increased adrenaline, but never did I feel as if I was out in the cold, on my own in a foreign land, so to speak.

I highly recommend David both to new and repeat homebuyers. He is down to earth, what you see is what you get, no frills, no BS. If you want the flashy, guy in the Mercedes with the hair gel and power suit, 4 cellphones ringing real estate agent, then I promise David Gluck is not your guy. If you're looking for a great deal, a zealous advocate, someone who really listens and respects your wishes, honest advice and direct input even when it might hurt a bit to hear, David is the perfect choice for you. And he's funny, too. We had some great laughs together during this past year, usually right when we needed them most. What else could you want????

Sold a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $225K in Highland Park, Oakland, CA.
It was an absolute pleasure to work with David. Our parents passed and my brother and I were selling the home we grew up in. David was sensitive to this, while at the same time he worked with us to maneuver through this complicated and sometimes frustrating process. If we had questions, he would promptly respond. If we had concerns, he would listen and address whatever we were unclear about. He was forthcoming and precise. He kept us sane and on point. My brother and I still marvel that we were lucky enough to find David on our first try. In the future, should I require the services of another realtor, David will be my first choice.

My sister found David when we were selling our family home after the death of my parents. We found David to be sensitive and respectful as well as knowledgeable of the area and challenges that went along with the property. He would continuously give solid advise throughout the process and we found him to be professional and efficient. Thank you David for your guidance and support through a very difficult period.

Bought a Single Family home in 2011 for approximately $1.0M in Crocker Highland, Oakland, CA.
David helped us buy our first house. He was extremely patient and responsive as we looked at many houses that were not appropriate for us and homed in on what we actually needed. He was able to point us toward homes that were more likely to meet our requirements. When our offer on the house we really wanted was finally accepted, he was completely on top of the process, having the various inspectors ready to go, and being there to supervise and transmit the findings back to us in a timely manner. We had a very difficult seller, and he was able to help us through that minefield, talking them away from the edge of the cliff several times. When our financing was having issues, he was able to help us keep the deal together. I can't say much about his negotiation skill, as this was not really an option for us with the seller we were dealing with. Overall, the process of buying our house was not a particularly pleasant one: we looked for a long time, the other side in our deal was very difficult to handle, and dealing with the banks was a nightmare. David was the only thing that kept us sane through that six month period. He was always available to offer advice and talk us through the next steps.

I don't know how I got so lucky to have found David, he's probably the best thing that could have happened to me in this crazy process of buying a house. David is simply fantastic at what he does, not only does he have amazing local knowledge and knowledge about the industry, he's practically proficient in everything! When you're looking at houses with him, unlike other realtors (I actually went to look at houses with other relators before David) he'll be able give you a pretty good estimate on all the work that needs to be done or not done, which for someone like me, who knows nothing about construction, was invaluable knowledge. It was so refreshing to really, truly have someone on your side that you can trust. In this day and age, where it's so hard to trust people, it was very refreshing to have met such a genuine and knowledgeable expert that you could rely on. Towards the end of the process, I considered David to be a good friend. Even now, after the whole tedious process was done, we still call on David for suggestions and advice with regards to fixing things at the house, miscellaneous paperwork with regards to the house, etc. And the best part is, he welcomes it! It's nice to know that I don't have to feel like I'm bothering him with all this even after escrow has closed. There are literally not enough words to say to recommend David. He's simply great. Everyone I've worked with on the house who've known him or come to know him also agrees. David is well respected within the industry and very knowledgeable. You would be so lucky to have him on your side.

Bought a home in 2011.
David went above an beyond to help us buy our first home, and find the perfect house for us in Crocker Highlands. He emailed us weekly with new homes, researched the homes that we found on our own, and gave great insight on potential purchases. David knows a great deal about home construction and was able to give great feedback on what a home would need if we bought it, and how much that would cost. Throughout our five month process David became a good friend and the only person I would trust with this process. Not only was he great when we were looking for a home, but once in contract his attention to detail, timeliness, and report with other agents and servicemen proved incredibly helpful. Its a tumultuous market out there, and David is the right guy to lead you through it. I recommend him highly, and would use him again if I didn't now live in my dream home.
