David is wonderful!! I was an out of state client with minimal knowledge of the area. He was extremely helpful, not pushy, and most of all - honest! He and his colleague with him really showed us what areas of San Diego would be good viable options for us and our family. Most realtors give you this "shady car salesman" vibe. Not David - he's honest, and really a joy to be around. He's extremely smart and savvy, so he knows his SD real estate backwards and forwards.
David and his team are excellent agents. From the moment we met him, we knew we had found someone professional yet approachable who would work hard to find the right place for us.
In that first meeting -- just as in all conversations with him -- David took the time to answer all our questions and to listen to what we wanted. Even when the meeting started to run long, he never rushed us and was clearly giving us his full attention. By the end, his recommendations matched up exactly with the types of homes we wanted to see.
David continued to provide this level of service throughout the process. We are from out of town and when we returned home, David and his team did not slow their search at all. And when they found homes that met our criteria but didn't quite thrill us for one reason or another, there was never any pressure to buy. They clearly wanted to find the right property for us.
When we finally did find the right place, the closing process had a few hiccups due to another service provider. David guided us through it all, listening to our concerns, calming our fears, and taking personal responsibility to make sure it all worked out. We definitely could not have done it without him. We worked with David for several months while trying to decide whether to downsize and stay in San Diego or relocate. He was incredibly helpful, has a great understanding of the market, trends, etc. and never, ever pressured us in any way. We decided not to sell our home right now and David actually helped us come to that decision. He is honest, caring, smart and I would recommend him to anyone!
My husband and I started our house hunt thinking we would be living close to downtown in a new development called Civita. When the model homes at Altana opened up in August 2013, we quickly realized that living there would be very expensive and frankly, out of our reach.
While sorting the mail after work one night, I came across an advertisement from David Rudd in a postcard for a home for sale in Escala, Mission Valley. My husband and I were living in an apartment home at the time and we had just had a baby 2 months prior. With the addition of the little one, we quickly outgrew our 2-bedroom apartment and wanted more room for his belongings and a nursery. Out of curiosity, we decided to call David Rudd and schedule an appointment to see the house for sale. Right off the bat, he was very receptive and easy to get a hold of. Just from our phone conversation, I could already tell he had a great personality.
When we finally met in person, I was very impressed with the way he presented himself and he even had a resume, which I have never encountered in my previous experiences with realtors. Although we didn’t end up buying that home in Mission Valley, we did decide to go with David Rudd and his team at Kindred Realty to start the journey toward our search for the perfect family home.
By October, we had entered Escrow. David Rudd took care of EVERYTHING! He introduced us to his good friend who was a mortgage broker, which after much shopping around, ended up being the best one of all. Next, David helped us with finding a home insurance with another one of his friends who was an insurance agent. Again, after much shopping around, David’s agent found the best deal for our home insurance by a long run. Lastly, with the appraisal and home inspection, David ensured that we were covered. However, this escrow transaction did not close as expected because the sellers decided not to sell their home just four days before closing. Because this was illegal and the sellers breached contract, David got us in contact with his lawyers immediately to help us through this frustrating ordeal. In the end, his lawyers were able to get the sellers to close escrow, but because of the stress we now associated with that house, we decided to back out altogether. Any other realtor would have probably convinced us to close escrow, so that they could get paid their commission and be done with it.
By December, we started looking for a new house again, but I was losing my interest and energy. We started to “settle.” We thought we found “the one” in a Serra Mesa neighborhood and we eagerly told David about all the renovations we wanted to do with the house…how we wanted to expand the master bedroom, master bathroom, etc. As David listened intently, he quickly recognized that if we bought that house, we would be throwing money down the drain very quickly and this particular house was not a good return on investment. Very nicely, David pulled our heads out of the clouds and brought us back to reality. David really kept our best interest in mind.
Finally, we found a 4-bedroom house 16 minutes from my work and in a magnet elementary school district and as soon as we walked in, we knew it would be our “forever home.” Closing came quickly over a matter of 18 days, which was made possible by the talented and dedicated team at Kindred Realty and through David’s excellent referrals such as RPM Mortgage. They really made this escrow transaction as pleasant and easy as possible. We couldn’t be more pleased with the house we ended up with, and what is even better, is that I didn’t expect us to live in a 4-bedroom home in the suburbs further away from downtown. But if there is anything I have learned from this house hunt, it takes a lot of patience and most importantly, a great realtor on your side such as David Rudd who can adjust to your continuously growing needs and expectations.

David Rudd has as much integrity as anyone I know. He is the most gracious, attentive, articulate go-getter I've ever seen. He has multiple licenses (brilliant young man) and when he gets involved with something he puts 110% into it. He is extremely discreet, so your business and financial matters are without worry. I have worked with David for about 7 years and he is a pleasure to know and to work with. This review may sound a little over the top but that was exactly how I would describe our dealings with David. From the marketing through the closing David delivered above and beyond what we had ever experience with any other realtor. We have purchased 8 other properties in various parts of the country and never had service like this. The pictures and write up of the property were just outstanding and what attracted us to the house. When we came to see it, he had staged it perfectly. We asked to come back at night to see it in the evening and he had a meal brought in for the showing. As we progressed through the transaction we had lots of questions since we were moving from out of state to here. He worked diligently to respond to our questions and even worked with us to help us understand all the features of the house and grounds.
But with all that said, the most important point to note is that he dealt with us in and honest and forthright manner. For this reason alone I would highly recommend David and his company for your real estate needs.
