savedbygrace - You can post corrected home facts about your house on Zillow - just click on "edit home facts" on your home's details page. The facts we publish are from your County's public records used to assess taxes. They may have the incorrect number of baths.
AH75 - I have some more detail for you ...We recently received a batch of incorrect sq. ft. data from our data providers. While we are working with them to resolve this issue we have removed the sq. ft. from the houses that were impacted. Your sq. ft. should be back on the home's detail page within a few weeks. In the mean time - you could post your correct sq. ft. on your home's page -- just click on "edit home details."
Good point -- it was on the list, then it came off the list after some debate. As you may know, we're working on a mortgage product and so the thinking was to add that forum when mortgages launch -- but your comment may help to get it on the list again. No guarantees but watch this space.
home101 -The reason your Zestimate is slightly low is because the County has the incorrect size for your property. Thanks for publishing the correct sq. ft. You could also calculate and publish a refined estimate using that data -- click on "My Estimator" and follow the steps. The reason 169 has a higher Zestimate is that it sold in February for $610K and so our algorithm has the benefit of that recent data. Interestingly, that house's size is also incorrect but it should be useful to have such a great comparable home that has recently sold at your asking price to point prospective sellers to when they ask you to motivate your pricing.Your County's tax assessor has also assessed the value of your home to be significantly lower than that of 169. This data is another input into the Zestimate algorithm that is throwing it off.As as homeowner you have access to the same tools on Zillow that a Realtor has. One additional tool you could use to set the record straight would be to calculate a refined estimate of your home's value. Click on "My Estimator" to get started -- and pay attention to choosing good comps in step 4 of that process.
JRFeldman - Zestimates are calculated based on your County's public records. If those are incorrect, the Zestimate will be incorrect. To account for these errors, we allow homeowners to edit their home's facts and publish updated estimates. You could also make the necessary corrections at your County - but please note that if they do, it can take some time for assessor updates to be reflected on Zillow.
Hi Barb,To update the status of your listings is easy;1) Search for or click the listing address to get to it's home details page.2) To the right of the sale price, you'll see a link to "update posting status" -- click that to let us know that the listing is pending, has sold or is off the market. If that doesn't work, please let me know.
Hi Kay, it's David from Zillow.I'm sorry, we don't remove homes from Zillow. If you reply with your address I'll be able to give you some feedback on your Zestimate. An inaccurate Zestimate could be caused by incomplete or incorrect data about your home - which is pretty easy to explain to anyone who asks. Please consider taking advantage of the free tools we offer sellers and post your home for sale on Zillow - when you do, your price replaces the Zestimate as the most prominent info on your detail page. You could also publish updated facts about your home - and use those to calculate and publish an updated estimate (using "My Estimator".)
Hi,Thanks for this feedback - I'd like to try and replicate the problem you're having. Could you please reply with the address of your listing?klw - Your credit card will not be charged. To verify the card, we process an authorization which places $1 on a hold (like they do when you check into a hotel). That hold is then automatically released by your bank. David G from Zillow
