As an out of town Owner who needed to depend heavily on their realtor, I would whole heartedly recommend Dawna as your realtor for buying or selling. We've done both! We first met up with Dawna over ten years ago when we purchased a property in Brookings. She was in the know about a house that hadn't even been listed yet! She did an awesome job for us when we recently sold the property. She had great insight as to what work to do to best sell the house and went above and beyond for us to check on the property during it's listing. She is smart and honest and easy to work with. She listens and is not pushy but clearly knowledgeable of the market and the process. She looks out for you, her client whether buying or selling. Don't hesitate to work with Dawna.

Sold a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $125K in Brookings, SD.

Sold a Single Family home in 2012 in Brookings, SD.

Dawna is a true professional that understands and values her clients. She will take the time to listen to her clients, asking specific questions, but does not waste their time with unnecessary idle discussion or useless questions. She will text message with non-urgent questions and/or ask when would be a good time to call to discuss items. However, she will call when appropriate. One day, she called to see if she could show the condo for a second showing. This was on very short notice; she explained the situation and did have an alternative showing time. I followed her recommendation and within a few days the condo was sold.

When negotiating the sale of the condo, she knew we did not want to sell the washer/dryer with the condo. The buyers wanted the washer/dryer. Prior to presenting the offer to my wife and me, she had two acceptable alternatives from the buyer. One of those allowed me to stay in the property until my summer break, which was one of our concerns. Within a matter of minutes of when she presented the offer to us, we countered with one of the alternatives and within the hour our condo was sold.

This is the second home we sold with Dawna. When it was time to sell this condo, there was no question we would use Dawna. She offers improvement recommendations based upon her knowledge of the local market. Prior to listing both properties she visited the property with both of us and offered suggestions for improving the "image" or market-ability of the property. She was honest with her suggestions/recommendations and listed the pros of making the changes and the cons of not making the changes. In our prior home, she suggested we change the carpeting on the stairs to improve the appearance and transition from entry into the den. This cost us a few extra dollars, but the new carpet showed off the hardwood floors. In the most recent property, she suggested we take down our family wall of photos. This opened up the hallway and allowed the potential new home owners to see themselves in the new home. After the changes were made, then she came back and photographed the home.

My wife and I will always use Dawna as our realtor. She knows how to market the property and close the deal that meets the needs of both the buyer and seller.
