I was referred to Deborah thru a colleague who successfully bought a property in the city with her help. I interviewed a few agents at the same time but realized Deborah was the right fit since the first time I talked to her. She is very knowledgable about the competitive market in SF and does a thorough assessment of your situation, possibilities and needs. I was very impressed how much she knew about every single property once we started our search. She has bought or sold them many times before!

Deborah gives you the facts about home buying in SF and while helps you make decisions, she doesn't make decisions for you. She understands this is tough process especially when it comes to making offers and respects the clients' emotions! They say that in life, you need a good doctor, a forgiving priest, and a clever accountant. Well, in the San Francisco Bay area, you also need a savvy real estate agent. It is with that context that I highly recommend Deborah Nguyen. Selling and buying a house is incredibly personal for most people. Deborah understand this, but also understands the longer term financial implications of these transactions and I cannot highlight enough how invaluable Deborah’s intelligence, thoroughness, and willingness to ask the difficult questions (both of her clients and of the agent on the other side of the transaction) are during this process. This is the second time I've worked with Deborah. She was so supportive and there throughout the entire process. I thought she had the a great network of other realtors to talk to about my property and was connected with partners (e.g. staging company and title company) that also were great. Throughtout the process, I had no concerns that something that would "drop". My place sold so quickly -- partly due to the nature of the SF market -- but partly due to her efforts and thinking of how to list. I would have no hesitation to work with Deborah going forward.

After recently moving to San Francisco, several colleagues recommended Deborah as I started looking to purchase a home. Deborah promptly responded to my first call, and we met shortly after to discuss my home and neighborhood preferences. From that first meeting, I knew that Deborah was hard-working, had expert-level knowledge of the city, and had my best interest in mind. She educated me on the market, neighborhoods, and what I could expect to find in my price range. Not only did Deborah show me listings that fit my criteria, she drove me around neighborhoods at different times of day - pointing out features of each area and how it would fit with my daily life. We've now used Deborah for the purchase of 2 homes and sale of 1 home. She is simply terrific in her role as buyers' agent or sellers' agent. Deborah keeps her client's best interests in mind at all times. She knows how to navigate the ever changing market and she took the time to educate us along the way, so that we knew what to expect and so that we took the appropriate steps early on to best ensure a smooth purchase / sale. In each of the 3 property transactions for which we engaged Deborah, it seemed as though she wrote the playbook for how things would turn out. I honestly can't imagine a better real estate agent than Deborah. I contacted her one night via Zillow and figured it would be a few days before I heard back--but within minutes I was responding to an e-mail from her. I was ready to move quickly with finding a place, and she helped me move as quickly as I wanted.

Deborah's local knowledge is unparalleled and really made me feel comfortable that I was making the right decisions every step of the way. She made what could have been a stressful process as seamless as possible. I knew that Deborah was on top of everything and I didn't have to worry about anything.

Deborah is brilliant. My friend recommended her after I had delayed buying a house for 6 years due to a negative experience with another agent. I was naturally skeptical, but Deborah absolutely proved me wrong, gained my trust the first time I met her, and reinforced that trust throughout the process:

She treated me as a priority even though my price range was pretty low. As an expert, she would point out aspects, both negative and positive, about the properties so that my decision would be informed, without regrets later. This was true even when it meant it would delay a sale for her. Her expertise and advice were valuable even to an Architect and 12-year San Francisco resident. She adjusted to my pace and wasn't pushy -- always calm and collected, drama-free, and also great with the pep talks.

I ended up with a place that exceeded my expectations. Deborah coordinated the the initial (and most harrowing, for me) parts of the negotiations -- the offer and counter-offer -- while away on an international vacation. Her responses were immediate. The offer didn't go through, so she shifted her negotiation skills into high gear (again, without drama) and came up with a brilliant idea that made all parties winners. All in a day's work (well, 6 months...in a VERY tough market)!

Deborah Nguyen helped my girlfriend and I find our dream home in what will go down in history as one of the toughest buyer's markets in San Francisco.  We would have not been able to secure our dream home at a competitive price without Deborah.  I've learned throughout this process that your success in finding and securing a new home is largely dependent on forging a partnership with the right realtor.

In a realtor there are three qualities that every homebuyer should look for and Deborah is off the charts on all of them.

First, you want a realtor who knows the market inside and out, has a pulse on where it is going, and understands your requirements.  Deborah has been in the business for over 20 years and has seen a few cycles of buyer and seller markets.  She took the time to delve into what we wanted and helped us sharpen what was really important to us.  I like how she wasn't shy about telling us we can do better when we were desperate and reminding us that a property met our requirements and was a deal when the open houses started to all look the same. She's also a patient educator; there is a steep learning curve to understanding the San Francisco market and you want a realtor, like Deborah, who is willing to impart this knowledge to you.

Second, you want someone that will go to bat for you, that is respected in the industry, and knows how to strike a deal.  This sounds like common sense, but you won't know what I mean until you drop Deborah's name at an open house.  I think other realtors like working with Deborah because she is a problem solver.  She has the edge to find out what is driving the other side and can craft a fair deal for both parties.  We did all kind of creative things like put two offers out on a single home: one with contingencies and one without.  It was uncanny how well Deborah recommended the range for offer prices.

Third, and this probably should have come first, you want someone you can trust.  We never questioned Deborah's counsel because we knew from the get go that Deborah genuinely wanted to see us happy with our new home.  We were at every open house and half the broker tours, saw more than 150 houses, and put out 16 offers in 6 months.  For the 100% we put in the process Deborah put in 150%.  Deborah earned our trust by always making sure that we had what we needed at anytime.  I'm sure she was helping many clients out at the same time, but we always felt personally cared for. The process for identifying, offering, counter-offering, and closing a home is complex to say the least. Deborah guided us through the process each step of the way and took a lot of the stress out of the process.

Deborah helped us get the home of our dreams.  I will never forget the evening we recounted the open homes we reviewed with Deborah.  Deborah's ears perked up when we told her about it and she said "I think I ought to write you an offer right now, I'm nervous just talking about it!". She wrote the offer at 10pm that night and it got accepted the very next day.  We owe it all to her.
