I had a home owner with the same issue contact me last week. After some research I discovered that the listing agent put in the incorrect APN/tax identification number, and had corrected the address. I informed the home owner to contact the listing agent and have her correct this information. He did not want to see his house on the market when it clearly was not.
Pat there are a lot of scams going on out there, please keep an extra alert eye on your property and the people that are driving the neighborhood. Is your house vacant? Someone may also be wanting to rent your property to scam tenant out of thousands of dollars. We all need to be extra vigilant during these tough economic times, there are too many people out there with too much times on their hands.
