Don Callahan moved to Savannah in 1997 with his life partner, Mark Conway. They found Savannah and its diverse, ethnically mixed neighborhoods to be a perfect fit. They were also stunned by the physical beauty of the town. They also found the town to be very gay- friendly and tolerant. Over the years they have created a vast network of friends who cover the proverbial rainbow of preferences, opinions and lifestyles.

Don became a licensed real estate agent in 1998 after having recognized a passion for all aspects of real estate-- the property, the details, the negotiations and most of all, the people. Together, he and Mark formed Callamark , Inc. which has rehabilitated more than two dozen properties throughout Savannah and Tybee Island. Don has been a top producing agent in Savannah and in May of 2007 became a partner in Keller Williams Realty Savannah Downtown.
 
In 2008 I received national recognition by being selected as one of "The Ten Most Dependable Real Estate Professionals of the Eastern United States" by Goldline Research. Perhaps the most noteworthy award I have received in my career, it was published in the December 22, 2008 issue of Forbes Magazine. 

It is not awards and accolades that continue to propel me in this industry though. It is the personal interactions with people that continue to drive me. I am thrilled every time I have the opportunity to meet someone new or rekindle a friendship through my profession. In my opinion, PEOPLE are the key to a successful real estate transaction. I am interested in helping someone find the perfect home, not just selling them a house. 

In April of 2014 I opened a satellite office, The Don Callahan Real Estate Group of Keller Williams at 3107 Waters Avenue in Ardsley Park. We're located across from Daffin Park.  

I also continue to have something of a love affair with the city of Savannah. Everything about this city captivates me. From the oak-shaded mossy squares of Downtown to the funky "bohemian" vibe of the Starland District to the laid back Low Country attitudes of the Islands and everything in between. The city's multi-faceted character continues to engage me and makes me want to know more about the place I already feel I know so well. My home, Savannah!

In his so-called spare time Don is an avid equestrian and has trained a thoroughbred in dressage for more than three years now. His training partner--always at his side-- is his dog Audrey. Don has traveled with Mark extensively. The two, however, always find it easy to 'come home' to Savannah.

      Bought a home in 2011.
      Don Callahan's response to me was welcome for several reasons. The first being he thoroughly answered my questions and the second being he was not pushy about representing me as I was already working with another agent. Once my email address was in his system, the newsletters he sent out were as valuable to me for information as they were advertisement for him. When I decided to hire Don in lieu of my other agent (who was very nice, but not as involved) he declined due to a conflict of interest; he had so many homes listed that he thought a "buyer's agent" would be preferable.

      Don recommended Jacqueline Mason. She is the agent who helped find our home and her tenacity, as well as her negotiation skills were an asset. This is the 5th home I've purchased and I've never had an agent work so hard to find exactly what we wanted. I also thank Don for the wise referral.
