Goldenn-Here's more info about the claiming process - http://www.zillow.com/learnmore/Claiming.htmThe short answer is search for your house, click through to the home details page, and then click the "claim your home" link on the right side of the page. After that, yes, you can edit the home facts.Hope this helps.
Yes - Texas is actually a non-disclosure state. This means sales prices are not a matter of public record. For more info - please take a look at this thread - http://www.zillow.com/forum/site/ViewThread.htm?tid=147
LadyJag-Great suggestion. This is a feature we'd like to support in the future. For now, the best thing to do is copy the content from your post, delete the post, and then paste the text in a new thread (making sure to correct the typo). Sorry there's not a better solution in the near term.
Bender-Great suggestion -- this is definitely something we're working on. Please keep an eye on the Zillow Blog - www.zillowblog.com - for updates. I can't promise a specific time period as to when we'll have that feature implemented.
Jim-As you know, counties across the country differ in the way to operate & the frequency which they update their data. Can you please elaborate on what you mean by "what do we require of our data aggregators?"
Eileen-A variety of things, depending on where you are located -- most likely, new sales transactions that have been entered in our system. Or potentially updated tax assessments.
Gerry-I apologize for the trouble you're having. To tell Zillow a home is no longer for sale or sold, just click the "Update posting status" link right next to the for sale price. To change the details of a posting, hit the "edit posting info" in the upper right of the home details page.Regarding permanently removing a property from Zillow - since all our primary property data is a matter of public record (you can find it at your local courthouse), we do not remove properties from our website.
Barbara-I'd encourage you to use the my estimator feature. More details can be found here - http://www.zillow.com/howto/MyZestimator.htmYou can start the process by clicking "create an estimate" on the upper right of your home details page.
We rely on 3rd party data aggregators to supply our data -- we'll have to wait until they receive/retrive the updated data for Arlington County and pass it to us before it shows up on Zillow.
