I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit. In search of a new home, I moved to New York City to attend the School of Visual Arts. Exploring upstate New York, I fell in love with the natural beauty and charm of Ulster County. I left Ulster County several times in pursuit of education and adventure. I studied Ayurvedic Medicine, the natural healing science of India, in Albuquerque, New Mexico; Yoga on Paradise Island, the Bahamas; and Biology in Seattle, Washington.
I returned to the easy going yet sophisticated Hudson Valley to live a healthy life and to pursue my true loves of art, design, and everything about the home. I've always had a great respect for the natural world. The sight of seemingly endless acres of green trees, hills, and mountains continues to provide me with a deep sense of peace and security. New York state offers some of the most thriving ecosystems in the country. Here I became certified as a Sustainable Building Adviser, and affiliated with the Unites States Green Building Council as a LEED Green Associate. I learned the importance of healthy homes and the building science within them.
Between the trees I found room for Art. As an Artist, I work in copper repousse. Repousse means "to push back" as in hammered and tooled copper. My work is about texture, captured movement, and the inherent beauty of warm natural metal. I use low VOC, non-toxic, and recycled materials.
Today, I combine my skills as a certified Home Stager and Redesigner with real estate sales. Staging is an effective way to market a property for sale or rental. Redesign is about looking at an existing property from a different perspective to see its full potential. From Home Décor to Sales and Marketing, for me it's all about the Importance of Home. I live in New Paltz, New York.
