Ed McAllister has worked in the Washington DC market for over 10 years and is licensed to represent both buyers and sellers of residential property in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.  A native of South Carolina, his experience spans a broad range of real estate from development and marketing to renovation, restoration, staging, and sales.

During his early years working in a 4th generation family business, Ed built a sophisticated customer service ethic rarely encountered in today's fast-paced real estate market. His total focus on your satisfaction sets him apart from most agents and guarantees your concerns and desires will be heard.

The Washington DC area abounds with interesting people, world-class art and music, nationally recognized schools, exciting professional sports, dining, and entertainment. When working with buyers Ed's first priority is to understand what you value most. Whether your wish list includes tennis courts, dog parks, magnet schools, or easy access to METRO and shopping, Ed can find the property that meets your style, price, and neighborhood preferences. He will find what you have in mind.

As a listing agent Ed delivers the same attention to detail, highlighting your property's unique features and bringing in motivated buyers who appreciate its value and special qualities.  Staging your home to show at its best, while respecting your privacy and security concerns, is one of his specialties.

Ed can draw on an extensive network of architects, designers, and contractors to make a fine property meet your exact specifications or to prep your property to stand out in a competitive market.  From contemporary downtown lofts, to gracious homes in close-in suburban neighborhoods, to historic country estates he has the expertise and personal drive to make your real estate transaction a success.

On the person side, Ed is active in the South Carolina Hugeunot Society, Sons of the American Revolution, Society of the Ware of 1812, and South Carolina Historical Society. He maintains a historic property in South Carolina that he restored while in college and has a passion for fine furnishings and interior design. He lives in the Spring Valley neighborhood of DC, and enjoys travel, tennis, yoga, fitness, gardening, and the company of his Welsh Corgi, Isabel.

      Helped me rent a home.
Ed was absolutely wonderful! I am very new to DC and Ed immediately took me in under his wing. He took thoughtful time to drive me through different areas to give me an idea of the many different housing options. I ultimately found the perfect place to meet my needs and could not have done so without his aid.  MoreLess

Bought a Cooperative home in 2014 in Cleveland Park, Washington, DC.
Ed was an excellent agent who quickly understood what I was looking for in every detail. He targeted our visit to homes that met my desires. His advice on negotiating and value resulted in $10,000 off of the asking price and his knowledge of the area had us in our ideal home for $250K under our budget. He was also a great communicator and quick out the door to new listings which is so important in the DC area.  MoreLess
