Sold a home in 2012.
Elaine was the third realtor I engaged to sell my beloved Topanga single family residence, so I have a basis for comparison. Elaine did what the others did not do, and she did it with honesty and tenacity. There was no bait and switch, luring me in with a price I would want to hear. We made an honest assessment, and she made it happen, by really pounding the pavement. She did far more than what was required, and really helped me out with a difficult sale with a good deal of issues. She was recommended by a reliable friend. My only regret? That I didn't get that recommendation two years earlier. She's trustworthy, capable and super hard-working. And I like her too. What else do you want?…More Less

Bought a Single Family home in 2010 for approximately $2.0M in Topanga, CA.
Elaine did a wonderful job helping us buy our first home in Topanga, CA. She also was able to successfully place new tenants in the home we were renting, as we had to break our lease to move into our new home.
We went to many open houses over four years in Topanga before we were ready to buy our first home. This is because Topanga is such a unique place with a great deal of variety in climate and housing stock. We were also pretty sure housing prices were inflated- although we obviously did not know that there was such a housing bubble until post 2008.
So after seeing many open houses and meeting almost all of the realtors in Topanga we chose Elaine because she was:
1. extremely honest about the condition of the houses that we were seeing. Some realtors did not agree that housing prices were inflated, and were so eager to make a sale that no obstacle with a house, no matter how major, was a problem;
2. very knowledgeable about the Topanga market, and the problems with each neighborhood, from weather conditions to coastal permitting, etc; and
3. very responsible with our time and budget requirements. She listened to us about the kind of house we wanted and did not waste our time with houses that were a no-go for our needs or were way above our budget.
We loved working with Elaine and she still helps us with any problems that have come up - since as first time homeowners we did not even know how to light the pilot on our water heaters. All of her recommendations for electricians, landscapers, plumbers etc, have been great.
Elaine and Snyder Sutton are highly recommended by our family.…More Less
