Erica Bass was a determined and knowledgeable person while trying to help my husband and I find a home. We gave her ideas on what we were looking for and it didn't take her long to find us our dream home! She is very professional and eager to help. We couldn't have asked for anyone better.

12/03/2012 - user627153Bought a Condo home in 2012 for approximately $275K in East Village, San Diego, CA.
I am an active duty servicemember and was deployed for most of 2012, and had always planned on purchasing my first home when I returned from overseas. Erica came highly recommended to me through a friend who had purchased a beautiful home with her help. I began exchanging emails with Erica very, very early on in the process (8 months in advance of my return) to familiarize myself with the market, give Erica an idea of what I was looking for, and get an idea -as a clueless first time home buyer- of what to expect of the process. By the final month of my deployment, we had figured out exactly what for and where we were looking, price ranges and even had some properties we were watching closely. When I returned, we quickly found something I liked and proceeded with the offer and buying process. I closed in around a month and am now living happily on my property.
My experience with Erica was outstanding. One thing I want to be very clear on is how above and beyond her responsibility she went at all stages in the process. My roommate on deployment was also going through his initial homebuying and was surprised at how un-personable and cold his realtor was with him. He did only what he was required to do and nothing more, treating my buddy like a name on a list and not a person. I never felt that way with Erica.
At the beginning of the process, I was surprised at how helpful she was to someone who was at least 8 months away from the buying point. I had a very vague idea of what I wanted and even less idea of what to expect from the experience. She very patiently and at length helped me sort through all of this, which I'm sure gets old when dealing with first-timers. She put me in touch with her preferred lender, who was a home run as well, and we proceeded with the pre-approval. For the following months she helped me decide where and what I was looking for, and I returned to the States having a great understanding of what I wanted and how to go about it. She is an expert on the market and the process, and she never once had to look something up to answer something I asked.
We had a list of properties to visit when I got back home, and I fell in love with one of the first ones we looked at. She helped me make the decision and finally I pulled the trigger on the offer. She helped me get exactly what I asked for in the negotiation process, letting me know what was realistic AND the best deal. The seller, I'm sorry to say, was not very professional, and without complaint Erica picked up the slack and followed up on phone calls, double checked signatures, and expedited the process in a major way. Keep in mind that much of this wasn't even her job to do, but she had enough professional pride to make this project just as much her own as mine.
Offer was accepted, and we proceeded with the escrow process. More problems with my new HOA and the seller, and again Erica stepped in when she didn't have to and helped me sort some things out. She checked in often and followed up with everything. Finally, the day I got the keys, the seller turned out to have not programmed my key fobs correctly. Erica, whose job was completely over at this point, dropped what she was doing to help my fix the situation. That is a level of pride in someone's work that's just not common anywhere.
So to summarize my experience, I very highly recommend working with Erica. She is an expert on the local market. She knew her job and everyone else's job backwards and forwards, in the dark, underwater, as we say. I never waited over a day for an email response, even months before I got home, and she responded to every problem that came up immediately and expertly. She got me exactly what I wanted in a property and in a price, and followed through completely. But the thing that stands out to me the most is her level of professionalism and the personal pride she takes in her work. She takes ownership of the project and genuinely cares about it. This isn't just uncommon in her industry, it's uncommon everywhere, and it has a profound effect on the bottom line experience. In the end, I had quite a bit of fun with it, which is how it SHOULD feel to buy your first home, and when the time comes to get the second one, I know who I'll call.…More Less

08/07/2012 - user6636859Bought a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $375K in Santee, CA.
Erica is a great resource when it came to buying our home. She worked with us for over six months until the perfect house became available. She is very responsive and determined to make her clients satisfied. Her knowledge and experience with homes in the East county made is very helpful since my husband and I were relatively new to the area. We told Erica what we were looking for in a neighborhood and she was quick to provide us with recommendations. I would gladly work with Erica again in the future.…More Less
