Sold a Single Family home in 2012 in RMMA, Austin, TX.
I couldn't ask for a better experience than I had with Garreth. Buying and selling a home is one of the biggest decisions and one of the biggest investments I will make in my life. I wanted someone by my side that I trusted and felt comfortable with, and Garreth was that person for me. Garreth went above and beyond to help me get my house ready and to make sure I was ready for the sale. He is personable and easy to work with and he has a great sense of humor too! I have and will continue to highly recommend Garreth to my friends, family and neighbors.

It was a pleasure working with you too! It's not often that I can call someone and say, "is it okay to shoot your house for HGTV this afternoon?" before it's on the market and a person says yes *and* their house is in tip top shape and shows perfectly.
I found Garreth Wilcock from postcards he sent to my house. He also has a broad online presence focused on the Mueller neighborhood in Austin Texas, and he lives here which is important to me. I had been talking to him for over a year when he told me that the time was right for me to sell my home and that I could get what I wanted from the sale. We listed and he handled negotiations thoughtfully, and I recommend him to anyone looking for a smart, experienced agent
Showed home in 2012 in Windsor Park, Austin, TX 78723.
I chose two areas to relocate in Austin. I worked with Garreth looking at homes in Mueller and he referred me to John Squires in Circle C. They are both experts in their neighborhoods, and while I ended up not electing to move to Mueller, I respect that I was handled by two professionals, and didn't feel either of them was trying to sell me anything.

Garreth assisted me in purchasing my home. A very cut and dry, no negotiating necessary contract. Everything went fine. So when I relocated and had to resell my home, I decided to go with him.
Some of the issues I had:
-There was an error with closing paperwork that took over a week of emails to resolve. He was copied on all correspondence, as well as his assistant, and no response was ever received from them – once they had their funds from closing it was as if I had never existed.
-I signed the agreement to lower the price of my home, per Garreth’s suggestion, on the 24th of February. On March 16th, I sent an email stating the online sites were still not updated. I noticed that the price on ShowingSuite was finally lowered on April 12, on the day I asked for his marketing plan on my home.
-In the marketing plan, he mentioned a website specifically for the neighborhood on which the house could be listed. My home went on the market in December. He did not mention the website until mid-April. On April 17th, I emailed that it was still not on the site. I was never told why it took four months to get it posted.
-Open houses were held by other agents, which is actually not atypical. However, Garreth was not even sure how many had been held and never got feedback from the other agent. Two weeks after one, I asked for feedback, but he had nothing and was” still working” on getting info from the other agent.. Having hired him partly based on his knowledge of the neighborhood, I was disappointed he was not at any of the open houses.

Thanks so much for this honest feedback, and I'm sorry that you felt that you weren't well served
I apologize that I didn't personally follow up on the closing paperwork error due to my absence on family leave. Certainly, my team should have assisted you there, and I'm sorry that you weren't better supported.
I will certainly be more direct with open house feedback in the future, rather than filtering out the things that a seller doesn't want to hear. This is useful, thanks for posting,
Bought a Single Family home in 2009 for approximately $150K in University Hills, Austin, TX.
Garreth is extremely knowledgeable about East, North Central and North East Austin, where we were looking to buy a house. We had a very particular type of house that we were looking for and a very tight budget. When we felt like we were being extremely picky and annoying, he always seemed very patient and told us that he was having a great time and was ready to look at more homes. After showing us a several houses and really getting a feel for what we were looking for, he brought us to our dream house and negotiated an amazing deal with ALL the bells and whistles.
He truly enjoys his job - and it shows - AND he's absolutely hilarious!! We had such a great time with him. We've recommended him over and over to friends and will use him again if we ever decide to buy another house.

Hey Davey, I enjoyed working with you too. And of course, I'm going to help you when you decide to get your own real estate license.
Garreth was great! He is patient, knowledgable, and honest. He gave me good advice during negotiation, and helped me drop the price by 7% on the property that I ended up purchasing. When we looked at properties together, he was frank and was able to point out things that were wrong with the property, and I was grateful for that. He was always on time whenever we made an arrangment to see a property, and was responsive to all my questions over email or phone. I enjoyed working with him, and will go back to him for my future purchases. You can't go wrong with Garreth.
I have nothing but praise for Garreth Wilcock, who helped me buy my dream home in late 2011. Since I was relocating from outside the U.S., I had a hectic schedule and various complex issues to deal with. However, Garreth was always available to answer my questions, maintain communication with the sellers' agents, show me homes at the last minute, and facilitate the entire purchase process. And going beyond the call of duty, he took the initiative to make sure that once I had found my dream home, that I successfully closed on it.
Garreth background in economics complements his excellent (and easy-going) interpersonal skills, which are both valuable assets to prospective buyers and sellers. Most importantly, Garreth is an intelligent and honest person who works hard for his clients' best interests. From past home-buying and selling experiences, I was wary about real estate agents before meeting Garreth, but finally I have found an agent that I can trust to work for me. He deserves my highest recommendation.
Bought a Apartment home in 2010 in RMMA, Austin, TX.
Garreth Wilcock is our family realtor and we would not have any other person to represent us in either the buying or selling of a home. He is simply the most dependable and honest Real Estate Professional in Austin. Garreth represented me in the buying of a new home in the Austin Mueller neighborhood. He also represented my sister in the selling of her Hyde Park home and the buying of her Austin Mueller home. He is now representing my mother in the selling of her home so that she too can move to the Mueller neighborhood. In all of these transactions Garreth has never missed a detail.
Garreth is an asset to Austin. He knows the city and inspires others to get to know it through his eyes. He is always a joy to be around with his sense of humor and interest in what is best for YOU! You will not find a Real Estate Professional with more integrity. When we were looking to sell our home, which we fully intended to sell, he suggested we not sell if we were able. His advice was to hold onto it for 10 years and we could make more money. How many realtors would have your best interest in mind and not their own? That is just the person Garreth is. He will always put your needs first.
