I was initially hesitant about doing a short sale on my condo but Glen and Shannon were very reassuring. From the quick response to my initial inquiry, to the regular updates throughout the process, Glen, Shannon and their team at Silvercrest made what was an overwhelming and confusing ordeal into a bearable situation that ended in relief and joy. They were all extremely knowledgeable and professional and I would highly recommend their services to everyone I know.
I had a unique situation where my company transferred the headquarters from San Diego to New York City. Obviously, the reorganization is not unique these days. However, I was left in a situation where I still had my income, but due to a mortgage that was underwater, I had to go through a short sale in order to move.
I had tried to deal with the banks myself, but after three failed attempts at asking for options, I reached out to Shannon Keatley at the San Diego Short Sale Experts (Silvercrest Realty). She immediately set up an in-person appointment to review my situation. Because of my continued income and previous attempts with the bank, I was very unsure that they could help me. She assured me that they had alot of experience with similar situations, and was optimistic. (with good reason)
We started the process immediately with their initial package of paperwork. (The paperwork was familiar, but unlike the banks, Shannon was always available and helped me through every step of the way.) Once we got the initial paperwork in, I most often dealt with other employees at Silvercrest. I was initially impressed with Shannon's availability and support, but EVERYONE I encountered at Silvercrest was outstanding. I will mention that more later.
So in less than 30 days from the initial meeting, Silvercrest found a buyer, and in less than 90 days they received approval from both of my banks. (by some act of god) I wish that was the end of the story. By no fault of Silvercrest, the original buyer decided to back out after the bank approval. After this, Silvercrest immediately got another buyer on board, but the banks decided to stop cooperating.
I'm a project manager by profession (and by nature), so once the initial deal fell through, I felt very unstable. I started to contact the office about every move they were making, and the staff there continued to be amazing. Every email, every phone call, every venting frustration, they answered immediately and with an eagerness to help. I could not be more happy with both Natalie and Camille throughout this whole process.
All of our patience was tried, as the banks continued to jerk around and break deadlines and deals, but they persisted through all of the trials and tribulations. By no means was this an easy or short process, as anyone who goes through it can tell you, but I would have never been successful without Shannon, Natalie and Camille! Everytime the banks made me worry, they assured me that they have it taken care of, and ultimately I have to say that they were absolutely right. They took care of me through the whole process.
My advice to anyone who is looking to buy or sell a home (or have to go through a short sale like I did) is to make the first call to Silvercrest.
