Snoqualmie Summit is at exit 53 on I-90 -- 53 miles from where I-90 starts at I-5 in Seattle. I've done it in 40 minutes and two hours, all traffic/weather dependant. But it's a pretty drive most of the way east of Issy, so "it's not as far as it seems!"
I second the bid for Grateful Bread...a great place to sit down and grab coffee and lunch! For those that like a more "consistent" experience, there's the Starbucks on 35th NE just south of NE 75th as well. Lots of great spots to eat and hangout in Ravenna's shopping district, an easier walk from the house, on NE 65th between 22nd and 24th.
Lloyd, you must be really tuned into that market! There has indeed been a lot of activity in the higher-end market in Denny Blaine, Washington Park, and Cap Hill. Notably as Rich mentioned above, the house just north of the subject (145 39th E) is now pending after six months on market, starting at $5.1m, reduced to $4.95m when it sold. Also 427 Lake WA Blvd, pending with list price of $2.5m; 1651 10th E closed at $2.45m; 1917 10th E closed at $2.84m. So lots going on, and our activity level on Rich's house has been better in the last two weeks than at any time since we've been listed. Also on market, and would be happy to show you: The estate Rich noted due east of the subject property, 120 39 Ave E, is active at $14.5m -- well known as Howard Schultz's former house, park next door no longer included in the sales price.
The east lawn off of 39th Ave East (the lot runs from Dorffel to the west to 39th East on its east side) is spacious, level, and very private, with a mature 12' laurel hedge (lots of ball still in there from the current owners kids' soccer and baseball games) on the street side and a 12' rockery on the other. If my five year old son hit a ball to the windows from there I'd give him a trophy, it would be a prodigious shot!
