Sold a Condo home in 2014 in Ukrainian Village, Chicago, IL.
Greg did an awesome job selling my condo. Got 3 offers, 2 over asking within the first week it was listed! Couldn't have asked for a better or easier transaction. He's highly knowledgeable in regards to the current market, comps, and locations. He and his staff went above and beyond to make sure everything went perfectly. I definitely recommend!

Bought a Apartment home in 2014 in Bucktown, Chicago, IL.
My wife and I were relatively new to Chicago, and certainly new to Chicago real estate. As we started are search, it quickly became apparent that Chicago’s market is much more complex than other markets, and the turnover happens at a fast pace, often subject to tenacious bidding. We met Greg while property hunting and found that his absolute love for what he does, along with his extreme flexibility and availability, perfectly matched our needs. Greg and his team were always quick to respond, proactive in their efforts, and went out of their way to make themselves available. But what has been so amazing about Greg is his commitment to us, his clients, even outside of the sale. Our experience has been, when you choose Greg to be your realtor, you are also choosing him to be your property adviser and consult for life. Even after we have purchased our four flat in Bucktown, Greg has continued to support us by consulting us on how to manage our tenants, our property, and our future sale. And even beyond this, we have to admit, we just “like” Greg. He is simply a good guy who is passionate about what he does and wants the very best for his clients.

Bought a Multi Family home in 2013 in Wicker Park, Chicago, IL.
I met Greg through our local neighborhood association, and after sitting down with him to discuss our wish list, we hired him to help us with our house hunt. I figured he would have great knowledge of the local landscape and he didn't disappoint. Any agent can show you a list of houses that meet your criteria, but what set him apart was his knowledge and honesty. There were several times that Greg had concerns with properties that we initially were attracted to. It was quickly obvious he was more interested in finding us a place we would be happy with for a long time, than making a quick sale.

We did finally find the place we wanted and managed to negotiate a price we were quite happy with. Our closing process was tricky, contentious and frustrating, but Greg was there to help us for the year and a half (yes that's right) that it took to finally get the deal done. We finally have our home and certainly have him to thank.

Sold a home in 2014.
My husband and I met Greg as a referral from a friend. Trying to sell a condo in Chicago from the suburbs or northeast Ohio could be difficult but Greg made it so easy! Greg has a wealth of knowledge about the housing market. His research and marketing plan worked perfectly on selling my condo. We got an offer at the first open house for over the asking price and as is! I couldn’t believe how well it went. The process of selling our condo was so painless. We were able to sign all of the documents in Ohio and scan them over to Greg making it very easy on our end. I couldn’t be happier with the way things turned out and I highly recommend Greg and his whole team…they will not disappoint!

Bought a home in 2014.
I’m not one to write reviews good or bad but for Greg I’m making an exception. Greg acted as far more than a realtor to me and my fiancé in purchasing our first home. He gave us so much unsoliscited advice and information about real estate, investments, home loans, mortgage rates, etc… We searched for properties for almost 8 months before finding our dream home. Not once during the whole process did Greg seem to lose hope with our unrealistically high expectations. We even switched our whole plan from looking for a 3-flat to a condo about 5 months into the search. He always knew there was going to be a better deal and property we loved. That is why I also say he is more than a real estate agent. He wasn’t just trying to fluff us up to every property we went into. He would see all the flaws in a building or unit that we would never see. It was like he was searching for a property for himself.

Another thing Greg does that makes him more than just another agent is he puts together very in depth comparative analysis reports on similar properties before you make an offer. This puts you in a extremely advantageous place during negotiation knowing your homes true value.

If you truly want a real estate agent that has your best interest at heart, go with Greg and his team. AskNagel teams slogan is "working harder and smarter for our clients” If you want to know if thats true, trying walking by his office on Division in the morning or at midnight. Either way the lights will most likely be on and you’ll see Greg working at his desk.

Sold a Townhouse home in 2014 for approximately $350K in Evanston, IL.
Our family recently sold a house and bought two condos with Greg Nagel. When I first met Greg, I immediately was struck with his enthusiasm and passion, as well as his unsurpassed knowledge of the real estate market. He is not only a very competent professional, he also knows the neighborhoods, and the city's economic. Greg is capable of conducting a fine market analysis for you while he is navigating the market with you. What really impressed me about this agent was that after the purchase was finalized, his work with me did not end there - he has been following up with me after I bought my condo, offering me more advice and assistance in my new place. Greg has stayed in touch to give me more information about my new neighborhood. Overall, he is a very knowledgeable professional, with wonderful personality and integrity, and we have been very satisfied with all the work and time he spent with us, navigating us smoothly through rough waters and a complicated real estate market, including the financial aspects and details of selling and buying real estate. He is a great help and resource in your real estate needs.

Bought a Single Family home in 2013 in Avondale, Chicago, IL.
Greg was very informative and passionate about the local market in Chicago. My fiance and I wanted to buy in a neighborhood that was not only accessible to the highway and public transportation, but also "up and coming". Greg educated us on the "value" neighborhoods and only showed us listings that stayed within our guidelines. When we did find a place that we knew was the "one", he was out of town. However, he was quickly available by phone and was able to set up a viewing remotely! His willingness to help regardless of where he was or what he was doing was amazing. In this market now, everyone is fighting to buy the house of their dreams and it was very assuring to have a realtor who understood this. From the moment we put in a offer, to the moment we closed, he made sure our best interests were met and made sure we did not spend a single penny over market value.

I would definitely recommend Greg to potential buyers (or even sellers)! His eager and "on-point" attitude helped us seal the deal in a great house with a great price. I know that some realtors may use a more laid back approach, but in this market you need someone who knows their stuff and works around the clock to get you what you want.

GO Greg!

Bought a Townhouse home in 2013 for approximately $675K in Lake View, Chicago, IL.
We worked with Greg to purchase our first home, and he was truly excellent -- professional, on time, friendly, responsive, and just generally a great person to work with.

Before looking at any homes he spent a ton of time just educating us on the process, what to expect, where we might encounter pitfalls. He also filled us in on Chicago-specific issues that were important to our decision. He was incredibly patient and answered all our questions in great detail. It was clear that he has a ton of experience in his line of work, and it really gave us confidence that we could trust his judgment.

During the showing process he was always on time and showed us literally dozens of houses, all excellent picks and exactly within our specifications. He helped point out items that might affect the purchase price or resale value of the home, and generally helped us get comfortable with the big investment we were undertaking.

Finally, he helped us negotiate and close on our house. Personally, I hate negotiating and generally will simply not engage in it, but in this case all we had to do was let Greg take care of it. He ran some numbers to evaluate the fair price of the home we wanted, and accurately predicted that we could get it for considerably lower than the list price. We would never have been able to do that on our own.

When we moved in, he put us in touch with contractors and vendors that he knew and trusted, and wrote us an awesome email with a checklist of items we should take care of (water, electricity, change of address, homeowner tax exemption, etc...).

So yes, if it's not clear already, we would absolutely recommend Greg to anyone looking to buy or sell a house.

Bought a Other home in 2013 in Bucktown, Chicago, IL.
I contacted Greg in early 2013 to see if he could help me find a two or three unit apartment building as a first-time investment opportunity. I had previously never owned a home and knew nothing about real estate, property management, or where to get started. So getting started consisted of an initial meeting with Greg to introduce ourselves, and Greg quickly got me on the right track by hooking me up with a mortgage broker who specializes in multi-unit properties, and whom I ended up using to secure the mortgage because she was great to work with. We also quickly got started viewing properties by doing a few visits one afternoon.

Although Greg was the first real estate agent I met and interviewed, I quickly realized I had made the right choice. Despite having no prior real estate experience myself, I could tell how competent Greg was. I could tell I was in good hands with Greg as my agent by the way he interacted with the various selling agents we met, the questions he asked, and the less obvious things he pointed out. I also appreciated the countless tidbits of knowledge he shared as we evaluated various properties (how to evaluate building exteriors, bedroom size drives rents, etc).

Trust has been a huge factor for me in my goal to be a property investor. Since I had no prior experience, I had to put a lot of trust in my agent to ensure I was making a good deal. Greg earned my trust in many ways, one of which being the fact that he would often talk me out of properties that looked superficially like good deals. He repeatedly assured me he would never let me buy something that he himself wouldn’t buy, and that was the mantra we followed as we struggled through what was a sometimes a frustrating property search. In total we viewed about a dozen properties over seven months. However his persistence paid off when we finally found a great two-flat in Bucktown which I eventually closed on.

Even after closing, Greg has been a tremendous resource as he has coached me through the rehab process and the transition from buyer to property manager. We had a three hour meeting where he gave me a private crash course for how to market my property, how to screen tenant applicants, and how to manage. Throughout the process he has also provided me with invaluable contacts, including my lawyer and various contractors, and his partner Tom Tomek has been a great help at times too. I sincerely believe there are very few real estate agents that would invest in a novice investor like myself to the extent he has, because he truly wants me to succeed. I have no doubt Greg Nagel is the best realtor in the West Town area, and I will unquestionably work with him when I eventually buy another property or sell my current one.

Sold a Single Family home in 2013 in Logan Square, Chicago, IL.
We recently purchased a home for which Greg was the selling agent. He was knowledgable about the home and provided good insight to the local area and neighborhood. We were extremely impressed with his follow up after the close with providing a closing checklist, local community association information, property tax, and alderman information. It is clear that Greg has a large amount of experience selling homes and would recommend him if you're looking for a selling agent.
