My wife and I can't say enough about Hart; he is the only reason we're in a house today. We were first time home buyers, utilizing a resident physician mortgage, and were moving from Seattle to Asheville with a very tight time frame. We had approximately two months - April and May - to find a home and close in early June. It was a daunting task but after my initial call with Hart I knew we were in good hands. The day after that call he began sending me near daily emails and we started a journey that ended up being more than I'm sure either of us bargained for!
In the third week of April, when we had a solid list of possibilities my wife and I flew to Asheville on a Saturday with plans to view houses on Sunday and Monday. Hart was unbelievably accommodating, picking us up on Sunday morning and taking us on a tour across the city to look at approximately 15 houses. On Monday we visited our favorites a second time, made an offer on a home in East Asheville and flew out the next day. Hart carried out what could only be considered a very challenging negotiation process with the owner (who was a real estate agent herself) and ultimately got the house under contract within a couple of days. Upon receiving the inspection report my wife and I determined there were too many potential problems with the home for us to feel comfortable and began to panic. We needed to be in a home the second week of June and we were getting close to the end of April. Hart kept us focused, laid out our options clearly, and made expert suggestions that helped us make the decision to cancel the contract and move on a different house.
Hart handled all of the work for canceling the initial contract and drafting our new offer masterfully. Within a couple of days we were under contract on the new house, moving forward with financing and it seemed like we were in the clear. Then out of the blue we got an email from our mortgage officer that he was leaving the bank effective immediately. He assured us he had all of the documentation that we had sent in our file , that he had tied up all the loose ends and that we were in good hands with our new mortgage officer. This was absolutely not the case; it was a nightmare. Fortunately, we had Hart on our side! He helped us jump through every tedious hoop that was thrown at us by our lender, put pressure on them when it became necessary, kept us from completely losing our minds, and got us to closing. We drove into Asheville early the afternoon of June 12th, Hart met us at closing, and we were moved in later that night.
When I think back over the last three months and the challenges we faced in purchasing our home, I can't imagine making it through without Hart. He is truly genuine, honest, hardworking and extremely knowledgeable. For as long as we're in Asheville, Hart will be our real estate agent.… MoreLess
