A Friendly Hello from the Housechick!

My name is Kelley, and I help people buy and sell real estate in Tucson.

With my background in Engineering, I approach Tucson Real Estate a little differently. I am a facts and numbers kind of gal, and spend a lot of time monitoring and analyzing information from various sources to find out the true state of the market, and put it all together in a manner that is clear and accurate for my clients. Buying or selling property can be a very emotion-laden experience, and I think having solid, accurate information in hand allows a buyer or seller to make good decisions, and to feel comfortable with those decisions.

I am also the technology queen! The internet is my friend, and I and my webmaster spend a good amount of time improving and adding to our website. The goal is to have Housechick.com be the ultimate resource for Tucson Real Estate: having an easy to use site, with relevant information, delivered in a timely manner. I won't ever make people sign in to my website to get information. I think that if I deliver the best, most accurate and timely information, that people will seek me out to work with me when they buy or sell real estate in Tucson.

About Tucson

Tucson is a big, beautiful city in Pima County, in Arizona. We just hit 1,000,000 in population for Pima County! The greater Tucson area includes cities such as Oro Valley, Marana, Vail, and Sahuarita, among others.

Tucson is my kind of town. I like the small-town feel, with the amenities of much larger cities. We've got a ski valley, the incredible desert museum, saguaros abound, and we are surrounded by mountains. Tucson also embraces alternative building styles, more environmenally friendly concepts such as solar houses, straw bale contruction, adobe, and rammed earth structures.

Each region of Tucson has a different vibe. I like Central Tucson, because I'm a sucker for a 1950's red brick project house. Central is eclectic, with a wide variety of people and houses and places, including downtown, 4th Avenue, and the University of Arizona. Northwest homes tend to be newer, there is a lot of new construction in this area. Oro Valley and Marana make up a large portion of Northwest Tucson. The North has older homes tucked up against the Catalina Mountains, a pricy location, and a beautiful one. Northeast has the Tanque Verde Valley, with clusters of mesquite bosques, lots of horses and horse property, and rambling ranch homes. East is a mix of older homes, some close in and some further out on nice large lots. There's also infill development with some small new construction communities. Southeast includes Vail and La Corona de Tucson. The Southeast is also a mecca of new construction, as the city pushes out towards Benson and Sonoita. South is a mix of styles and ages, and includes a little more industrial building, as the airport is in Southern Tucson, and the Far South pushes development up to Sauharita and Green Valley, just past the Tohono O'odam reservation lands. Southwest had a building boom in 2005 and is still producing affordable new homes. West is pressed up against the Tucson mountains, and is known for large lots and great city views.

About Kelley, the Housechick of Housechick.com

I was raised and educated in the state of Arizona, and have been in Tucson since 1995. The University of Arizona is a family tradition for me, and I graduated cum laude with a degree in Systems Engineering, with a software specialty. Go Wildcats!

I spent five years in the transportation and transit industry, running the test department for a local software company. After a re-org, it was time for a change and I moved on to Real Estate. I am a licensed REALTOR in the State of Arizona, and I love it! Agents are a much malaigned crew, some deservedly so, but there are jewels out there. I'm proud to be one of them.

I am also a proud memeber of the Central office at Long Realty in Tucson. The Central office does more transactions in this city than any other office, which means we are an experienced, hard-working group. Central is the best place to be!

Away from work, I like to remodel homes, build furniture and cabinets, and teach ballet. I've got my eye on a new router table! I'm also on the staff at Flor De Liz Dance, where I teach 8 -12 year olds, and choreograph for the advanced ballet group. At home, I get to relax with my pups, Zeki the proud and ever-shedding Anatolian Shepherd, and Floyd, our lovable shepherd-sheltie-who knows what else mix who we rescued from the pound through the FAIR Foundation. I'm also a certified SCUBA diver, and have been lucky enough to travel and dive places such as the Galapagos Islands, Saba, Australia's Great Barrier Reef, Cozumel, and Maui.
