Listed, but didn't sell my home in 2013.
Gene worked very hard to try and get our property sold through a short sale process. He is an expert in the process and knows and understands the detailed requirements and regulations that need to be followed. Unlike other realtors I have used in the past, Gene responded immediately every time I had a question or wanted an update. I never had to wait for an answer. Gene and his partner come with my highest recommendation. You will not be disappointed.

This review about Gene Shull is a special way of saying thanks to a mentor of mines that's pushing me to new heights in my career. Gene has helped me tremendously in business & have physically walked me through the process of success. I believe that's priceless for Gene to give 110% to assist me with understanding the process. Working with Gene through the process is AMAZING. This guy is a genius when it comes to real estate. He's so knowledgable of the market & can articulate it in a simplistic form that even my 6 years old hyper active son can understand. I must say that one thing Gene has really really help me as a mentor, was believing in myself & allowing me to understand that it's ok to be who I am & that I have what it takes to be successful. In fact we all have it but it comes with believing & allow me to be ok in been different. Gene is the #1 agent out of about 200 other agents in his company, a top Realtor in our local market & have maintained that success for a number of years. That really gave me a strong perspective of who he is & allowed me not to question his successful tactics. The beautiful thing about his mentorship is allowing me into his world & see how a successful businessman manage life & business every single day. Gene is not your average Realtor & in fact he strives to be different, in which I believe contributes to his success so greatly. Gene is now consider my Big Brother, a friend, a partner, & most of all a person who brings the best out of me. He pushes me & never ever ever ever accept any of my legitimate excuses, LOL. Its perfect for me to be push & not to be allowed to give any excuses because I'm a procrastinator if I'm allowed to be. Again Gene, my big brother, my mentor & friend is an outstanding person who really cares about people & to me that's more important than any success or advice he can give me. He and his wife are truly genuine people that I have grown to love.

Sold a Single Family home in 2013 in Salem, Virginia Beach, VA.
Before Eugene contacted us we were working with Chantell Ray. They told us that we would never get approved for a short sale and that our only option to get out from under our house was to walk away and foreclose on our property. Gene proved them wrong. We started the short sale process December 2012 and as of March 1st we have an approved short sale. We can't thank him enough! Without his help the sale of our home would not have been possible. He was very aggressive at selling our property. I would highly recommend Eugene Shull for your short sale.

I believe Character is the real foundation to Gene Shull's success. Gene focuses on Value and Success is achieved. Gene is humble tolerant and kind. Gene knew the price of my success and set realistic exspectations upfront. He is dedicated, hardworking and showed me unremitted devotion to the things I wanted to see happen. I watched as Gene Worked truly spirited toiling upward into the night he planed purposefully, prepared carefully proceeded positively and pursued persistantly. I watched in awe time after time I saw him plan with audacity and execute with Vigor. Gene puts his heart, mind, intellect, and soul into even the smallest things. I saw him turn all the pressure in this process into performance. some people just make you feel tolerated but with Gene I feel appreciated. Bought a home in 2013.
I have worked with 2 realtors on the West Coast and 2 here on the East Coast. Gene is by far the best realtor I have worked with.
He is very honest. He will tell you what concerns he would have if he bought the house he was showing you (traffic, parking, resale value, etc.)
He has great negotiation skills.
Awesome follow through. Still keeps in contact after we moved in.

Bought a home in 2005.
Working with Gene was one of the best Real Estate experiences I have ever had!! I was Active Duty Navy and deployed overseas. My wife was going to move from Wisconsin to Hampton Roads shortly after I returned from deployment and was trying to find us a Condo to purchase. She worked with Gene mainly through email and phone calls to line up a weekend full of properties to show us when I returned. Gene's responsiveness more than settled my wife's concerns, he was prompt in providing information, coordinating calls with me overseas, and met every expectation we had. When I returned from deployment we spent the weekend looking at the properties Gene lined up, and it was like he knew us for years. In the end we had 3 great properties to pick from, and once decided Gene negotiated the contract with ease. He just flat out got it done to a high standard, I highly recommend Gene especially if you are Military!!

Sold a home in 2013.
Gene's is one of the best agents out there. My mother had passed away not too long ago and myself along with her other children did not live in Virginia. We needed to get her house on the market but weren't really sure where to go. We were reffered to Gene by a family friend. We all met with him and immediately knew he was the right person to sell our mother's home. We headed back home and on our way, we received a call from Gene. He had sold the house within 15 minutes of putting it on the market!!! I didn't think that was possible but I soon found in working with Gene ANYTHING is possible. Not only did he sell the house extremely fast, he also negotiated our seller paid closing costs to half of what the buyer's wanted. I thought to myself that this couldn't get any easier, but it did. Not only had everything gone smoothly, but Gene referred us to use Linear Title and Escrow for closing and WOW what a difference title companies make. We never had to come back to Virginia for this process at all. Linear Title and Escrow sent a notary directly to us in North Carolina to sign all documents to close on our mother's home. While the entire thing was bitter sweet, I couldn't have asked for an easier Real Estate process. THANK YOU GENE and the team of people you work with!

I GUESS I SHOULD START FROM THE BEGINNING. I CALLED GENE ABOUT 8 MONTHS AGO AFTER READING A REVIEW SIMILAR TO WHAT I AM WRITING ABOUT.
I KNEW RIGHT AWAY GENE WAS DIFFERENT, HE WAS FUNNY, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND INTERESTED IN MY RESULTS. WE BEGAN LOOKING FOR HOUSES AND WE FOUND ONE. IT WAS PERFECT. I THOUGHT THE HARD PART WAS OVER. I QUICKLY LEARNED I WAS WRONG, YOU SEE, I CAME TO GENE WITH MY OWN LENDER AND GENE ASKED IF I WOULD LIKE HIM TO SUGGEST A LENDER FROM A LIST OF TRIED AND TRUE LOCAL LENDERS. I SAID, NO AND GENE DID NOT PUSH.
HALF WAY THRU THE PROCESS, MY LENDER DROPPED THE BALL AND WE MOVED TO THE NEXT LENDER ON MY LIST. IN THE INTEREST OF MAKING A LONG STORY SHORT, FAST FORWARD 8 MONTHS AND FINALLY, GENE INSISTED WE TAKE THE FILE TO ONE OF HIS LENDERS. AMAZING, WE CLOSED IN TWO WEEKS!!
I GUESS IF I HAD TO TELL YOU WHAT MAKES GENE DIFFERENT IT WOULD BE HIS ABILITY TO KEEP EVERYONE INVESTED IN THE PROCESS EVEN WHEN IT SEEMED HOPELESS. I had the pleasure of meeting Gene when I was selling my home and he was NOT my agent. I was trying to find a way to stay in my home after going through a divorce. It was a long, difficult battle and I ended up contacting Gene a couple of times requesting his assistance. I am incredibly stubborn, very analytical, but I knew I had to do what was right and I knew I wasn’t thinking clearly from long term stress and illness. Out of literally close to one hundred agents who had come through my house to show it and try to sell it, Gene had stood out in my mind. I could tell that he cared about his clients and I was pleased to find that he is not afraid to tell them the opposite of what they want to hear (i.e. if he doesn’t believe in a particular price, he will not support a decision to list or make an offer at that price).
I don’t want somebody who is going to waste my time and money telling me what they think I want to hear; I’m not the professional. However, I felt I was stuck with an agent at the time, other than Gene, who was so anxious to sell my house out from under me just for the sake of a profit. And my agent had no concern for how or if I could afford to live anywhere else. Gene helped me figure out what was best for me and continued to help me after my contract ended with my other agent, even though there was no profit for him as what was best for me was to stay in my current house.

I've spoken with dozens of agents in the Virginia area and numerous other industry professionals, and I can say with absolute certainty you will not find an agent who knows the market better than Gene Shull. He is also an extremely helpful individual and just a great guy. His results speak for themselves.
