Why won't Zillow list our house???

Answer

I can assure you that Zillow isn't refusing to publish listings from any particular broker. There have been some changes recently to how some listings are fed to Zillow, and your listing may be caught up in that. The simplest and fastest solution would be to have your agent submit the listing on Postlets.com, which will then feed to Zillow. Manually entry is also an option, and should work. Without knowing what kind of errors they are seeing though, it's impossible to say what the issue might be.

does zillow cross reference with mls or other search engines such as hotpads or trulia

Answer

Tim is correct, Zillow doesn't "access" MLS data directly like an MLS member (a real estate broker or agent) can. But, we do have agreements to get direct listing data feeds from thousands of brokers, franchises, and MLSs. They send us a "feed" of the data, and we insert that into our property listing pages. Those feeds can be updated up to every 15 minutes, and reflect exactly what's in the MLS.

Anyway an email can go out about the property to all the buyers who have saved your home?

Answer

tydeluca99 - I totally get where you're coming from here. Sounds like a neat feature to add. But, the concern is user privacy. When a site user "tags" a listing of interest, we don't want to compromise their privacy by allowing unfettered agent access to the fact they have saved a listing. Some users save dozens and dozens of listings and their user experience on Zillow would likely be reduced if dozens and dozens of agents started contacting them on every saved listing. It's always a constant battle, which we test extensively, when deciding between consumer and agent useability. All that said, I'll pass your suggestion on to the teams that look at future enhancements. You never know until you ask!

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE WEBSITES TO ADVERTISE WITH..

Answer

I'm quite partial to Zillow for residential sales and rentals... ;)When I owned a brokerage, some of my agents swore by CraigsList. I typically swore at CraigsList, Never had any luck with it myself, especially on for sale properties. Mixed results with rentals.

Is there a way to add my listings to my free Zillow account?

Answer

Jon - Yes, there are a couple of ways to have your listings displayed on your profile. Listings get to Zillow several ways -- via direct feed from a broker/franchise, or by a syndication service like ListHub or Point2 are the most common way. If either of those apply to you, then you just need to make sure the email address in your Zillow profile matches the email address in your broker/franchise or syndication service feed.If you already have listings that are showing up in Zillow, then some sort of feed has been set up, and matching the emails will take care of the problem. You can tell how your listings are getting to Zillow by scrolling to the bottom of the listing. In the "Listing provided by" section will be a link to where we got that listing from. That is the source that will need to use your Zillow profile email address (or, you can add the email address they are using as a secondary address in your Zillow profile). If you can post a link (or an address) to one of your listings, I'll be happy to take a look if what I wrote above makes no sense.
