Even though The Philly Home Girls have grown to become a household name in Philadelphia's Real Estate Industry, the teams' co-founder, Jeanne Whipple, remains a small town girl.  Originally from South Carolina, she appreciates etiquette and hospitality.  Working as a real estate agent affords Jeanne the opportunity to treat clients, cooperating professionals and her business with a certain home grown savoir faire.

After attending the University of the Arts and eventually receiving her fine arts degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Jeanne enjoyed short careers as an illustrator and then as a programmer for the Chicago International Film Festival.  The price of real estate in Chicago eventually drove her back to Philadelphia in 2002 when she bought her first home in Fishtown, the same neighborhood where she currently resides.  During those first couple of years back she transitioned a newly formed business of marketing for architects and real estate agents into full time real estate sales.

Building an impressive resume of top rankings and awards in service and sales volume on local and state levels from Realogy, NRT, Coldwell Banker Preferred, USAA and Cendant Mobility, and achieving a position as Chair of the Ethics and Grievance Committee at the Greater Philadelphia Association of Realtors are important accomplishments.  Still, Jeanne ‘s primary focus is on earning five star reviews from her clients and remaining a highly reviewed Philadelphia Real Estate agent on major real estate websites including Zillow, Trulia and Yelp.  The quality of work she does for her clients is more important that the quantity.

Helping people own the home they live in and love is Jeanne Whipple's passion turned occupation.  When she's not working she can be found playing tennis, hiking with her dachshund off leash in the area's parks and reserves, reading Architectural Digest, appreciating a local cultural event or experiencing Philadelphia's renowned culinary scene.   As a creative outlet, she is applying her experience and knowledge of the local market to building her own new construction homes for resale and delighting in the occasional flip.

Jeanne understands there are plenty of real estate agents in Philadelphia to choose from. She encourages you to do three things.  Read the online reviews that her past clients have written about her. Visit her website http://www.PhillyHomeGirls.com where you will find an online portfolio of her listings, a description of her team, and an overview of her client focused business model. Then hire her to apply her expertise to the purchase or sale of your home.

Team reviews

We spoke to several realtors in the early stages of our relocation to Philadelphia, but we chose Jeanne for her warmth, knowledge of the city, humor, and sincere interest in helping us find the right home. She worked hard to help us identify a great neighborhood and a wonderful house, and represented us with expertise in tricky negotiations. We had the opportunity to work with several members of Jeanne's team, and they are all wonderful. Jeanne is truly a great person and a consummate professional -- i recommend her without reservation.

Bought a Condo home in 2015 for approximately $325K in Kensington, Philadelphia, PA.

As a first time home buyer, I wanted to find a great realtor to help me through the whole process. Jeanne and her team of Philly Home Girls did just that. Luckily we found a house we love on our first trip out to look at houses. Jeanne kept in contact with us through all of the steps and was always available to answer our questions. I would recommend Jeanne to anyone looking for a realtor and I hope to see her in the neighborhood when it gets warmer! :)  More Less

Bought a Townhouse home in 2014 for approximately $350K in Fishtown, Philadelphia, PA.

Alright, so this is a little delayed (almost a year), but I have put it off long enough. First off if you need a realtor, Jeanne is fantastic! We had a great experience and we truly love our house and neighborhood. Jeanne definitely made the process easy.

So here are the details: My husband and I had been through two realtors already who really just didn't work out. We went on Zillow and contacted the top two realtors at the time (most amount of stars and most amount of reviewers) and as luck would have it Jeanne was one of them and she got back to us immediately! The first time we met it had snowed a foot the night before, but Jeanne was still up for meeting up with us and trudging through the snow to look at houses. We were a little pressed for time as my husband was commuting a long ways to work each day where we currently lived, so finding a house quickly was a priority... But we are a little picky too, so not too quickly :).

Anyways, we were coming from about an hour away, so Jeanne had arranged to show us 10 houses around the Graduate Hospital area (which is where we thought we thought we wanted to live). One of the houses piqued our interest, but we had never made an offer before, so we were a little hesitant. Jeanne worked with us to put in an offer within a couple of days (we debated a bit whether we should make an offer), however at the same time that we put in an offer another couple had too. We could have pursued bidding on the house, but we really didn't feel too strongly about it, so we decided to not put in any counter offer. Working with the paperwork and such with Jeanne really made us realize what we had to do when we found "the one". So on another trek to the city (I think it snowed again, or at least there was snow everywhere still) we had mentioned a house in the fishtown neighborhood, which we really hadn't considered before, that house turned out not to be what we were looking for, but Jeanne showed us a couple more houses in the neighborhood and we were hooked. Jeanne sent us a guide she created with her team for the area and it was a great way to get introduced to the area. One of the houses in fishtown really piqued our interest and after a second look on the same day, we knew it was the one. We discussed with Jeanne a competitive bid to get the house (Jeanne was great with this letting us know what the comparables were for the area in the last few months) and they accepted.

From there it was pretty smooth sailing. Jeanne and her staff (Big thanks to Zoe!) ensured we got all of the inspections, paperwork and payments to the right places on time. Jeanne was also great with working out our schedule, we had to move up our closing date to fit with my husbands Navy Reserve Annual Training and everyone was able to make that work. Closing was pretty easy, lots of signatures and a walk through of the house to ensure everything was being taken care of that was part of our negotiations.

At the end we had our keys and although we weren't commissioning a ship and the house wasn't brand new we cracked a bottle of champagne against the house to christen our first house! Yeah! Thanks to Jeanne and her team for making it so easy!

Cheers, Irene and Matt
