I originally called Jeff to view a lovely property of his that I saw online for rent - from the start, Jeff was short and rude. He refused to show the property after 5 pm even though many people work past these hours and did not have any weekend showtimes. I managed to drive down to see the house during a lunch hour - Jeff was on the phone for the entire showing while I looked at the place. I had a number of questions about the pricing, property, and what to expect for moving in. The house had a broken window, excessively stained carpeting, and scraps of wall paper inside of a bedroom. I asked if these problems would be taken care of? He flat out said no, laughed, and told me the property came as is and to get over it. I at first thought he may have been sarcastic but learned that was not the case. Jeff continuously was rude the more questions that I asked.
We did love the property and decided to apply anyways, thinking that we would just not deal with him. He told us that he would let us know. I had to call Jeff 4 times, left a voice mail, and never heard back from him. One of the other house mates called him from a number he did not know, so he was forced to admit that the house went to another group. He never apologized for not communicating and did not offer to show us any other properties. I would never recommend Jeff - he was rude, unwilling to accomodate anything but his own schedule, and provided no help or guidance.
We at Cairncross Management apologize that you feel this way! As a small company occasionally things fall through the cracks, and we genuinely apologize that you felt neglected or disrespected, it certainly is not our policy! We do typically only have showings during the day, as often properties do not have power turned on, or important details are not as easily seen at night. It is also our policy to inform prospective tenants if there are additional applications on the property, please keep in mind we are not allowed to release any information regarding the status of other applicants. We apologize that your calls were not returned promptly, there is no excuse for that and we will immediately look into better solution to that problem. If there is anything additional that we can do to help make this right, please contact us! Again we apologize for making you feel this way, and hope that we can make it up to you in the future!
