How long after having a short sale can one begin the purchase of a new home?

Answer

Fannie Mae has released information stating that most people that sold via Short Sale vs letting the home go to foreclosure, will be allowed to buy again after just 2 years. Of course every bank may have different policies, but this is positive news! Those that went through the foreclosure process usually must wait at least 7 years.
