Bought a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $1.1M in Foster City, CA.
We came to know Jim from a trustful friend in late 2011. As a successful agent, Jim is certainly very busy, but he showed great patience with us and went through almost all opened house in our range for 11 months. In some cases, he would cool us down and let us know the disadvantages of the house and explain the potential problem not disclosed.
It took 11 months since we were not familiar with the area and the house market recovery outpaced out expectations so much that we tended to give lower offer than Jim suggested.
With his guidance and negotiating skills, we finally found our dream house without overbid too much if not at all.
Before we moved in, Jim helped us to find the right contractor to fix some problem of the 40 years old house even though he was no more obligated to spend time for us after we closed the house.
It has been only 2 months since we moved in, and the price of similar houses already shot up. The only thing we regret is that we did not find Jim earlier.

Jim is a fantastic real estate agent, and helped us purchase our first home a few months ago. The inventory has been terrible this past year and every home had multiple offers – frustrating for a buyer. Since the time we started working with him, he understood our needs exactly, and was genuinely interested in finding the right home for us. Throughout the process, we felt no pressure at all. In fact, Jim advised us to be patient all along, and even told us not to bid on a couple of homes because of his assessment. He's got a very friendly personality and is always willing to share his knowledge about anything related to housing.
Anyone who has read his excellent blog should have no doubt about his breadth of knowledge and experience - nothing more that needs to be said about that!
Thanks to Jim, we found our dream home, and the whole process was very smooth. Jim went the extra mile to help us even after the sale was done. For example, he arranged for us to meet the sellers, which was extremely useful. He also referred us to the some very good professionals for home services that we needed. As first-time home owners, it was a huge comfort to have Jim’s help and guidance rather than working with someone who does the minimum to get their commission.
There’s no question that I will turn to Jim if I have the need to look for a home again (hopefully not for a while!!). Highly recommended.
Bought a Townhouse home in 2012 for approximately $600K in Foster City, CA.
As first-time homebuyers, we are glad that Jim was our agent. We certainly benefited from his experience, network and local knowledge. His knowledge on the different townhome/condo projects in Foster City area is nothing short of amazing. All in all, it was a pleasure to work with Jim.
Last year when I finally decided that it was time to sell my place and move to a new area, I knew whom I was going to call. A few years back Jim had helped me with the purchase of my first home and in a crazy real estate market, he masterfully guided and facilitated the transaction. I had worked with a couple of other agents previously and had not been impressed.
I warned Jim that he would have some hand-holding to do as the market was very tight and I was very specific on what I wanted. He confidently accepted! I can tell you that I was not an easy client but Jim was always reassuring. He kept telling me that I WILL find my perfect home. He was right!
Jim cares about his clients and fights for them. He is not just interested in closing a deal and making a sale. He cares about what happens after the dust has cleared- if his client is happy 2 months after the sale. He is knowledgeable and always available. I have highly recommended him to anyone who has asked for a referral to an agent. He is the best!

Jim was recommended to us by a co-worker and we had a blast working with him throughout the complicated buying process. Jim is an extremely honest guy and will tell you when something isn't worth making an offer on. He was always on our side and never put any pressure on us to make offers or to influence our decision.
Jim is very friendly and actually fun to work with while being very professional at the same time. He has a great experience in various markets and knows all the nitty gritty details about most neighborhoods in the peninsula. He even have an active blog where he discusses the real estate market.
Jim was instrumental in helping us with our home purchase. He made sure we were comfortable with our offer and ensured that we were making a sound financial decision.
Jim is the agent you want to work with. Highly recommended.
