Listed, but didn't sell my Single Family home in 2014 in Fulshear, TX.
Primary point of contact: Herschel Rothchild and Daniel Nolte
May be we were a one-off but we had a terrible experience with J. Rothchild Team. We own a home in Katy and asked them over on recommendation of our old realtor who moved out of the area to see if it made sense to sell the house and try to make a few bucks.
They came over and said that at $425k we should only have to give up 1-3 pct to sell it no problem, so we dropped $2000 to paint and fix the house and another $1000 in addtl expenses to make sure the dogs were at doggie daycare for the first 2 weeks the house was on the market and in storage expenses for boxes of stuff etc.
The day after the house went on the market, I couldn't find the listing on HAR.com which is supposed to be a mirror image of the MLS, so I spoke to the listing agent and we figured out that they had listed the subdivision as "Creekside at Cross Creek Ranch" instead of just "Cross Creek Ranch" and in doing so, someone logically searching for just "Cross Creek Ranch" would not pull up the listing. The list agent changed it in HAR and even though I reminded him to do so, did not update the MLS, so for the first ENTIRE MONTH the house was on the market, no one came up with the listing in MLS and we had a total of 1 showing during the hot part of the summer market.
Two weeks into the house being on the market, JR team stated that the lady who came by and suggested the list price has the tendency "to shoot too high in the beginning" and that we should lower the price $5-10,000. We refused.
At the end of the third week, still with no showings, we agreed to lower it by $10,000; our whole budget to negotiate. Still not showings.
At the end of the 4th week, that is when I asked them to reconfirm that the listing agent changed the MLS and it turned out that he didn't. By the time the listing was changed it was near the end of July and although we got a big influx of people coming to see the house (once they could actually find it!) buyers were under the assumption that we must be desperate since it was the end of the summer and the only offer we received was a sum total of $37,000 beneath our original list price and they weren't even serious buyers.
My irritation was even further compounded when I called the agent I had been passed onto and proclaimed my frustration at 1) their error and 2) the money we'd dropped into this with them having messed up our listing and his reaction was, "oh well." And nothing else.
I called Herschel Rothchild then and discussed it with him. While he was nice and certainly more apologetic at their mistake, he said he'd discuss it with the agent and get back to me. He later left me a message stating they knew this was a problem in our neighborhood, sorry and to let him know what else he can do to market out house. WHAT? Aren't THEY supposed to know what to do to market a house?? That's what THEY are there for right?
So, towards the end of the summer we decided to cut our losses, after dropping $3500 or so bucks in costs of having the house on the market with nothing to show for it, we told them we wanted to take the house off the market. They sent us paperwork amending our contract to take the house off the market but forcing us legally to keep them as agents until the expiration of our contract which is not until next year! After they messed up so horribly one would expect them at least to have the decency to decide they'd caused us enough grief and allow us to end our business arrangement with them, but nope, nothing doing and we have no legal recourse to fire them apparently, so this is my recourse as far as I can see. Hope that this experience helps someone not fall into the same trap as we did.
The whole experience was excellent!! They are very professional and very good at what they do.
Their response time was always great, I have nothing, but good things to say about their services. I highly recommend them.

The listing agent, realtor and team were very knowledgeable, friendly and easy to work with. After signing the agreement, they put a for sale sign in our yard, listed our home on HAR and printed flyers for us the very next day. We got our first offer after four weeks and our buyer after ten weeks! I have already referred them to neighbors; however, do not give the same recommendation for Celebrity Title.

The entire team was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. This was my first real estate experience. It was a bit overwhelming because of the variables, protocols and customary action including time frames. The Rothchild made sure that I was well informed and educated before taking the next step. Our home was listed for a brief few weeks (this included the two weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years). We still had numerous showings and activity during this time frame. i was very please with the outcome. I definitely would recommend the Rothchild team to any of my friends and family.

Everyone we dealt with were all very kind, helpful and quick to get back to us when we had questions. We felt the person who came out to list our house was very honest about how they thought our house would do in the market. They put the sign up the very next day, kept us supplied with flyers on our house. We received timely feedback via email after there was a showing on our home. We loved that they used texting for scheduling showings of our home. When an offer came in during the weekend, they immediately sent the offer instead of waiting until Monday to get it to us and worked with us all weekend on the offer. Closing went very smooth, no problems whatsoever. Our realtor was with us for any questions. I would definitely recommend this realtor to others who may be looking to sell or buy.

We were introduced to the Rothchild Realty group through our builder, Highland Homes and recevied a very good reference from them, and they definitely lived up to their reputation. They were very quick to set up our initial meeting and start working on the advertising for the sale of our home. It sold incredibly quick and everyone we delt with was very professional, quick to respond to my emails and questions. They were most helpful in negotiating the sale itself - they processed several scenarios for us to use as comparisons until we were comfortable with the outcome. I was extremely pleased - thank you for all your help.

Joe Rothchild Keller Williams Signature Realty helped us sell our Pearland Shadow Creek Ranch house very fast. They provided suggestions on staging the home and helped us price it right which resulted in 25 showings in the first ten days it was on the market. We had 3-4 offers the first week and were able to get 10% more than the asking price. They are set up to help their customers everyday including weekends. With the title company in the same building as their real estate office, they were also able to help us through the closing process. We were very pleased with their service.
We have used the Rothchild Team now three different times since we have been in the Katy area. I have enjoyed working with their entire team and they have been very responsive to all of our needs. I was very impressed with Joe's relationships he has developed with builders in the area and because of this we were able to secure the home we wanted with Highland Homes.
