Joe Samuels was born in Charlottesville, Va. and raised in nearby Orange County. After graduation from Hampden-Sydney College he joined his father in the real estate business started by his grandfather in 1913. Joe has been active in the sale of some of Virginia's most historic estates and finest residential properties. He serves on the Board of the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation, the Board of Worksource Enterprises (devoted to workplace training for the disabled) and on the Board of Community Services Housing, Inc., a local non-profit group providing housing for the disabled. Joe is also Vice-Chairman of the Albemarle County Acquisition of Conservation Easements (ACE) program providing local farmers an avenue to protect their farms in perpetuity.
