We first considered working with John after a friend recommended him. One of the key features that our friend mentioned was that John was patient which was important to us because we were looking for the perfect fit for us and not necessarily in a rush to move. After 10 months of looking, John had tirelessly shown us well over 30 homes and vetted many many others without breaking a sweat! John has a long-term relationship outlook for himself and his clients. He knows that some people find the perfect home quickly, and others take longer, and he will do everything he can to assist you during your search.<br/><br/>We found his knowledge of the OBX area and structural knowledge of the homes we viewed to be excellent, and he was always able to answer questions and point out areas of potential concern or otherwise. He was always very responsive - any question I had via email, text, and phone would generally be addressed within the hour. He is also well connected with other professionals and his recommendations for lenders, laywers, and inspectors were great. <br/><br/>Our short sale offer was accepted after 2 months with a closing date in 2 weeks. John had specifically recommended a lender (Emily Berry Wells Fargo) to us for her speedy turnaround in short sale situations, and I know there is no way we would have been able to close on time without her and John's diligent speed on the paperwork. Throughout the process, John would drive paperwork to my office and my wife's so that we could keep things moving while at work, met inspectors and contractors at the home, and walked us through each step of the way.<br/><br/>Since we were in a short sale situation, we weren't expecting to be able to negotiate with the bank about repairs, but John met with a contractor to get some estimates on the home and then pushed a request through the seller's attorney to the bank. The bank agreed to a $4,000 closing credit for us that we would have never thought to ask for! On the days before we were set to close, the house was still full of the previous owner's possessions and John went above and beyond the call of duty, bringing over a trailer and hauling stuff out of the house himself when the seller's plans to clean out the house fell through.<br/><br/>Needless to say, we were beyond pleased with our experience with John and would certainly work with him again in the future. He is knowledgeable, responsive, patient, professional, and a nice person who wants and achieves the best for his clients. What more could you ask for?

Bought a Single Family home in 2014 for approximately $3.3M in Kill Devil Hills, NC.

My wife and I have purchased more than 10 homes in 8 states over our lifetime due to career choices. I can say without hesitation that John Register was the best realtor we have worked with. John not only understands the complexities of the local markets but he tenaciously follows through on every inquiry and detail throughout the process. We bought a second home through John and live far away. One month after buying the home a hurricane came directly over our new home. We called John and he took care of preparing our property without hesitation, even though the sale was completed and he was under no obligation!!!

Bought a home in 2011 in Colington, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948.

John is a great Real Estate agent! He helped us negotiate a tricky deal and found us the perfect vacation condo! You can tell that he really cares about his clients and not just "the deal". He will work with you until he finds you exactly what you are looking for and will not push you into something that is not a perfect match. I am very comfortable referring John to family and friends.

John is very knowledgeable about the area and an expert in real estate. I would highly recommend his services and do when asked by someone. He truly helped my transaction to closing without any incidents which is hard considering the market and lending restrictions currently being used.
