I returned to Alaska in 1983 after being away for over 20 years. It was my wife Judy's first trip to the Greatland. During the time away we lived in Arizona, Montana, California, and Oregon. The last fourteen years we lived near Roseburg, Oregon where I taught school, and got the fishing bug. During the summers I was commercial fishing on my small troller called the Shaniko, named after our daughter. Upon arriving in Anchorage, both Judy and I worked for the Anchorage School District until 1998, when we moved to Sterling. During that time I became a Kenai River fishing guide. We built a new home on the river, and in a weak moment Judy said she thought having a bed and breakfast would be fun. So, six bedrooms latter, the Silver Bullet guide service and bed and breakfast was a reality. It was in the fall of 1998 that we both got our real estate licenses and joined Freedom Realty in Soldotna. More Less
Our three kids are stretched out along the pacific coast from LA to Anchorage. It is always fun when they, or the four grandsons, can make back for a visit.
Besides real estate, fishing and running the B&B I still substitute at the local high schools during the winter. We both like to travel so it is never a surprise where we might turn up. We have recently been to South Africa, and New Zealand. With over ten trips downunder we have acquired many friends, who in turn come to Alaska for a visit. Our next trip will be our twelfth to England this spring.
We both really have enjoyed being involved in real estate here at Freedom. We look forward to helping both buyer and sellers accomplish their goals. Home ownership is still one of the greatest investments we can make as Americans.
The Kenai Peninsula is a wonderful place to work and play. Remember we love Happy Campers, so give us a call.
