When identifying an agent we wanted someone who would represent our best interests and not those of the seller. John Sullivan from Buyer's Edge was the perfect fit for us... zero potential for conflict of interest because he works solely for buyers, excellent knowledge about the neighborhood we wanted, thorough real estate know-how, and he always listened to us.
I'll be frank. We had little idea of what we were doing since we've never been through this process before. John helped cut through the "BS" and put us at ease. He made what, at times, could feel incredibly overwhelming easily surmountable. He was aggressive in identifying homes for us to see, and once we found the perfect home he was very responsive & efficient with paperwork and worked very hard for us every step of the way. He walked us through everything with grace and honesty, helped identify a terrific closing attorney, and provided us with the very best options for home warranties (which we had to use twice in our new home, and the one we chose was excellent).
He is a consummate professional, relatable, and very knowledgeable. And best of all? John loves his work and the people he helps. It was clear to us from day one that John was in this for us and not for himself.
We have no intention of moving from our home any time soon, but when we are ready for a new purchase we will use John. No question. And we recommend him highly to anyone purchasing a home.…More Less

John holds an Associate Broker's license in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia and is Vice President of Buyer's Edge Co., Inc. A licensed agent for over twenty years, he has more than thirty years negotiating experience in both real estate and in his former careers in private industry and government service, including twenty years in the Department of Defense. His unique credentials include being one of fewer than 100 agents nationwide with training and experience in Buyer Agency that has been recognized by both the National Association of Exclusive Buyer Agents, (Certified Exclusive Buyer's Agent), and the National Association of Realtors® (Accredited Buyers Representative).
Not just another agent, John is a former President of the National Association of Exclusive Buyer Agents (NAEBA.com) and served on its Board of Directors for three years. In addition to his continuing legislative efforts for revision to the Maryland State Agency Disclosure Statement, he also serves on committees for both the Greater Capital Association of Realtors® and Maryland Association of Realtors®.
He resides in Baltimore and Cheverly, Maryland, with his wife Sally. He served as an elected Town Council Member in Cheverly and is active in several community organizations in Cheverly and Baltimore. John is an Air Force veteran of Viet Nam who also served in Operation Desert Storm while a civilian employee of the Department of Navy. He holds a BS in Business Administration from Youngstown State University and a Master of Science in Business Administration from Indiana University, South Bend.
