Bought a Single Family home in 2011 for approximately $375K in Clinton, MD.

Mr. Sullivan helped me purchase my first home (in 2011) and he was great to work with. During my long search for a home, he was never impatient nor impolite. He always had time to show me homes - many homes over a span of about two years (started in 2009) - and if he was ever disappointed that I didn't like what I saw, I was never aware of it. He even turned me away from several homes he felt would be problematic or were priced too high for what was being offered so I knew he cared about me being satisfied with my purchase. I'm very pleased with the home I bought and Mr. Sullivan's diligence helped put me in it. I'm happy to say my first-time home buying experience was pleasant.  More Less

Bought a Townhouse home in 2012 for approximately $250K in Riverside, Baltimore, MD.

John helped my husband and me purchase our first house. We had already limited our search to the Federal Hill neighborhood in Baltimore, but even though we were familiar with the area, John's expertise regarding the homebuying process was invaluable. When touring houses he always pointed out things that went beyond the facade, such as the age of appliances, the nearness to the highway/noise you hear if your windows are open, and whether the house was setup in a workable way, particularly as we hope to have a family in the future. He was always mindful of our budgetary restrictions (being newlyweds and young professionals with a lot of student debt) and in fact counseled against several more expensive homes that may have been too much of a stretch for us. We made offers on 2 different houses, and during both negotiations John acted very quickly and helped us craft terms that we thought would be appealing to the seller. During the negotiation John was very effective and helped negotiate a fairly large price drop by relying on the local comparables, and even after closing assisted us in resolving a small problem that was identified during the walkthrough. I highly recommend John as a buyer's agent, particularly for first time homebuyers who might be a little intimated by the homebuying process. It was relatively painless and we are thrilled in the house we found.  More Less

Bought a Single Family home in 2011 for approximately $300K in Cheverly, MD.

John is phenomenal. This was our first home-buying experience, and it could not have gone more smoothly thanks to John's experience and expertise.

When identifying an agent we wanted someone who would represent our best interests and not those of the seller. John Sullivan from Buyer's Edge was the perfect fit for us... zero potential for conflict of interest because he works solely for buyers, excellent knowledge about the neighborhood we wanted, thorough real estate know-how, and he always listened to us.

I'll be frank. We had little idea of what we were doing since we've never been through this process before. John helped cut through the "BS" and put us at ease. He made what, at times, could feel incredibly overwhelming easily surmountable. He was aggressive in identifying homes for us to see, and once we found the perfect home he was very responsive & efficient with paperwork and worked very hard for us every step of the way. He walked us through everything with grace and honesty, helped identify a terrific closing attorney, and provided us with the very best options for home warranties (which we had to use twice in our new home, and the one we chose was excellent).

He is a consummate professional, relatable, and very knowledgeable. And best of all? John loves his work and the people he helps. It was clear to us from day one that John was in this for us and not for himself.

We have no intention of moving from our home any time soon, but when we are ready for a new purchase we will use John. No question. And we recommend him highly to anyone purchasing a home.
