Joni holds a bachelor's degree in journalism with high honor from Michigan State University. She also studied social science at the University of London, London, England, and completed master's level courses in business administration at Oakland University.
She worked for many years in the print and broadcast industry as a reporter and editor. She anchored the news for WJIM in Lansing, Michigan, served as associate editor for Michigan Out-of-Doors magazine, and worked as senior copywriter in the advertising department of Kelly Services at its corporate headquarters in Troy, Michigan.
She started her own marketing writing firm in the mid 1980's and produced a wide range of marketing materials for a variety of clients, including ad agencies, state government, computer software firms, business consultants, and many more. By the 1990's, she was specializing in educational writing for Dr. Lawrence Lezotte, a renowned educational researcher, and has written several books on the topic of effective schools.
It was during her move from Michigan to Wenatchee, Washington in 2000 that she realized all of the skills she had gained in marketing were a tremendous fit for successfully marketing real estate. After a stint working the front desk at Laura Mounter Real Estate&Co., she quickly gained her real estate license. It didn't take long to apply her marketing background to real estate, and she became one of the agency's top-producing agents, handling several million dollars in sales each year.
Today, Joni works incredibly hard for her clients, from first contact to well past the closing of each transaction. Her marketing skills, combined with an eye for detail and old-fashioned work ethic, have resulted in satisfied clients who become good friends.
